SV1000 Front Suspension Upgrade.

Iím to a point of wanting to improve my front suspension. My pace is improving and both Patrick and Rodger have told me Iím way over sprung in front. Mine used to be a race bike and at some point some thing in the forks was modded but I donít know whatís in there nor do I have the tools and knowledge to find out. I can upgrade whatís on it with a Traxxion AK-20 Axxion Cartridge Kit for $1000 plus whatever tools or labor to install it.
I know there are some GSXR forks / front ends that can also be used. I havenít researched or priced that route because Iím thinking the AK-20 would be best for my track only SV1000 and that the price difference would not be tremendous. I guess another option would be to put in some lighter springs, fresh oil and see how it feels.
Not sure which way to go here. Thoughts? And I know ďhave Patrick look at itĒ is on the top of the list. Anything else?

there's always the GSXR swap ... but you already know the first step ... let Patrick figure out what's in it. May already have an emulator, but it's just sprung for someone heavier than you.

instead of swapping the front end with something that didn't belong on there, i think it would be MOST beneficial if you go with the AK-20 cartridges sprung and setup for your weight/riding style.

well, that's what i would do....

Yeah I'm thinking the gsxr swap is not what I want. I've been talking to some sv1000 "gurus" on another site. They're recommending RaceTech Gold valves ( FMGV S2040 compression, and FRGV S02 rebound), and a set of .95 springs (FRSP S403195) or, the GP suspension equivalent. The cost would a lot less than the ak-20 cartridges. I don't know about the performance differences.
