wrd!

Greetings everyone. I've been wanting to get into riding for as long as I can remember, and finally have decided to sign up for an MSF course and start looking for a bike. Hoping to get some feedback on a good program with some slots open next week, awesomecycles seems like one of the more popular programs but they have no weekday openings next week. Any advice on which programs to look into? Or maybe someone could direct to the proper forum. I also have some questions bout whether or not a 250 is the right bike for me, considering that I'm 6'3. Also have some questions about the street value of one particular bike that I'm looking at. Thanks!

Guy I know has a 97 Honda CBR600F3 with 28k or so miles. It was dropped once so he replaced some plastic and repainted the whole thing black. It's lowered a few inches but I understand that throws off the whole steering geometry of the bike, so that would need to be put back to stock. Apparently it's having some motor problems from not being driven in a while, but small engine and carburetor repair is nothing new to me. Then again, time is money. KBB trade in is just over 1900, he's asking 2k. Have hard is to find parts for that year? And what do you think a fair street value would be?

Great starter bike! But with motor problems I would NOT pay KBB on it... maybe 1500 depends on the amount of work you would need to put in it.

your user name is a joke, but you seem to be pretty knowledgeable. welcome, and good for you for doing research.

F2/F3's are great bikes, but as most have stated, i would not pay more than $1500 for it. have you looked into getting an SV650? those are also great beginner bikes, and very capable of running down the bigger bikes at the road tracks.
