Almost got ran over today

, 2nd day out on the bike, and I'm almost roadkill. I was riding around some backroads around Pearland havin' fun, minding my own business when some jackass going the other way in her white SC430 decided to pass up the car in front of her. She moved over a bit, then swung right out in front of me, and decided to stay there for longer than I'd have liked her to. Luckily I had just checked behind me not two seconds before, so I knew my wouldn't be violated when I hit the brakes. I know some of you fkrs may be like 'That happens to me all the time' but that was my first time almost being hit, on the 2nd day no less. I'm really not looking forward to ever hit or be hit by a car. . . looked like it would hurt.

That does happen a lot of the time but with experience you will definitely get used to it. I learned to enjoy cars coming into my lane or them pulling out in front of me. It makes the ride more interesting. The key is, expect every car on the road to not see you and plan ahead for the what if's. Enjoy the rides man.

It was a single lane each way. All nailing it would have done is put me in her engine bay. Also, like I said, I had JUST checked behind me for cars right before it happened, so I wasn't worried about getting my pushed in.

Not yet. I still don't even have a license. I just picked up the bike last Monday, got insurance yesterday, so I started riding it around a little. Two friends and I will be taking it around mid April, but if funds allow, I'm taking it a little sooner.

Wait until the soccer mom with the big SUV tries to change lanes in front of you while beating her kids with the other hand. After a while you'll start riding very defensively. It freaks you our at first though.

Yeah, I have a Shoei X-11, A* GPpro gloves, and an A* textile jacket. About to go buy another jacket(leather) and some better shoes for riding.

Kawigirl, I was the guy asking about the blue 6R a few weeks ago.

was she hot? most women that i've seen that drives sc430's have been pretty hot... haha.

Anyways, yeah, especially to the suburban mom thing... it's so dangerous, but just be careful and expect the worst to happen and know how to counter it.

Aren't you at Pasadena Kawasaki? If that's you, I had gone in there and talked to a younger guy with a hat about a blue ZX-6R, and called the next day and talked to 'you' about matching another dealers price.

Stealth- I couldn't really tell too well, but from what I saw. . . I'd nail 'er.

BTW, I am taking the MSF. I've also been watching videos or wrecks and the aftermath just to remind me of what can happen.
