insurance question...

never thought about this til earlier when i saw a guys thread on gixxer.com about his integra getting stolen and found stripped bare. Basically he had a nice gsr with alot of aftermarket goodies (seats/I.C.E./I.H.E/wheels).

he has all of his reciepts for every part that was bought along with fully paid credit card statements with the transactions on it.

my question is with full coverage insurance. along with the $$$ for the car itself, will they reimburse you for your aftermarket stuff pending you supply receipts to everything?

and would this also apply to full coverage insurance on a bike?

you have to inform the ins. co. ahead of time, of the $ of theses adders , and they will raise your rates accordingly. after a certain amount.

if you fail to report it to them, they will go by "book" value of the car.

same w/ bikes.

best to call and find out, above how much $ you need to tell the ins. co. prolly up to $1000 you'll be fine.......

yeah you have to tell them whne you add certain goodies that you would expect to have replaced if the car was stolen. they charge you more for insurance depending on how much the things are worth and how likely they are to get stolen.

My truck is a perfect example. You have the base insurance to cover the truck then you have to tell them about the lift, wheels and tires, screens, stereo, everything. Then they are basically insuring an additonal amount of money. If they dont know you will not get paid for it.
