2009 R1 Motor Issues

Anyone have experience with the 2009 R1 motor blowing up?

Friend on the west coast mentioned that he has seen several blow up during races and tracksdays. Some kind of a major design issue with the motor (longevity wise), he said.

Any comments or experiences?

Might be better to check and review over some Yamaha forums where there should be more people who own them.

I scan the UK forums from time to time, nothing about such an issue that I've seen
they are being raced in the British Superstock 1000 series (standard motors) and apart from being down on bhp I've not read anything remotely scary!

Have'nt made it down to Sunny Motorsports yet.
There have been rumors about customers being sexually violated by a guy named Tony down there that lurks in the shadows. I fear for my bung hole.
