Once. Zero tread left + rain + painted stripe + changing lanes = 30 mph slide through intersection. Gear and frame sliders FTW!

And it took me about 3 minutes to get back on the bike. Hasn't stopped me!

One wreck for me and it was all bc of a stupid freakin cager!! Got rear ended while I was riding down the road! Yes, I was in motion (about 40mph) and just wham right into the back of me. Anyway, to answer Cali's question. I bought another bike a month and a day after the accident, but rode a few friends bikes before that to find out which one I wanted to buy.

6 Incidents

Incident #1) '86 or '87 (my fault... too much throttle off the line at a green light! Looped!! );

Incident #2) '89 UH Architecture Parking Lot (my fault... doing a "burnout" in a wet parking lot. I used to love doing that on wet pavement. But then one day, a car pulled up the entrance just as I got there! );

Incident #3) '90 in front of my driveway to the garage apartment I was renting on Varsity Ln., off Wheeler St. (my fault... I liked to turn into the driveway, then haul down the drive way to do a stoppie in front of the garage apt. door. I went down as I hit the throttle, because there was sand/dirt/grass clippings in the gutter, since the lawn boy was cutting the grass );

Incident #4) Once again on that same driveway (my fault... except this time, I didn't stop in time and almost went through the front door ).

This all happened within my first few years of riding street. I decided to stop being stupid, since I was a poor student, and couldn't afford to fix my bike all the time. But then, in '92..

Incident #5) On Cullen Rd. at the Holman St. traffic light, by Hoffeinz Pavilion. (Stupid b*tch's fault... she just walked out onto the street, right into my path. I had to swerve, and I went down right in front of her, as my bike continued on its merry way! Her only reaction was to say "Didn't you see me walking?" with her nose in the air, then she kept on walking, leaving me and my bike to bleed on the ground. )

Incident #6) Just last month. (Cager's fault... some kid decided to make a u-turn right in front of me on Hwy. 6 )

Only had a bike down once in 18 years of riding and that was due to a pile of gravel in the intersection of Nasa1 and Space Center. Bike slid out from under me and left me standing in the middle of the intersection at about 1am. Nothing but my feet ever hit the ground, but I guess I have to count it since the bike was on its side. So much for a perfect record.

Amazing statistical spread. Looks like a perfect normal distribution.
1 on street, new bike (<1 week) with better brakes than my last bike, new tires and a stupid cager in a turn.
