Funny, I thought Ting was just a fixer of broken bones since that's usually when they go see him.

James Whitham (ex WSBK, WSS and BSB) suffered from similar symptoms during his career and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a form of cancer.

I hope that one day Rossi tests this theory. Thats what it would take, in my mind, for him to truly be the best of all time.

They're talking about a factory race bike, not like anything you can buy from a dealer

The RC211V was arguable the best bike in GPs at the time as is/was the M1. I'd like to see him to do it on difficult to ride hardware. To prove, undoubtably, that its more man than machine.

there were reasons behind Rossi not going to Ducati. maybe someone can shed light on that but i read this somewhere. I mean you figure Ducati would have been having wet dreams over Rossi on their bike. An italian on an italian bike? right? i think it was because Rossi felt Yamaha had the better bike, dont hold me to that but thats what i thought i remember.

I read his book and while he really did want to go with Ducati, he just didn't like the corporate feeling. To Ducati it's all about the bike and the rider just happens to be there, which would have been similar to his situation at Honda. He wanted to be appreciated as one of the main reason that the bike is fast. When he went to Yamaha, the M1 was not the bike it is today. He and Burgess made Yamaha give them complete developmental control which is unheard of for a Japanese company. At first, Burgess said no that he wouldn't go with him, but obviously he changed his mind.

you think they were like that despite him
he spearheaded development on both bikes and the aprilia 250gp bike before them.
the NSR500 that he rode in his first year in the blue riband class was to the best of my recollection the only bike he didn't have input on.......

Rossi has publicly stated that the amount of PR contractually expected of him was more than he was prepared to give and that this was the main reason he declined the ducati approach! It certainly wasn't money.
