Laguna Seca - AMA Supersport Qualifying (Spoiler Alert)

http://superbikeplanet.com/2009/Jul/sp2/090704d.htm

The CMRA's own Ricky Parker is on the pole. At Oak Hill a few weeks ago, Ricky and I were shooting the breeze and I asked him how it felt to bag his first AMA win earlier this season. He said, "Man, actually it was almost like a non-issue. It didn't feel any more special than winning a club race here [with the CMRA]." I was a little surprised, but, given the state of the AMA these days, well, you know.

So, while that may be, Laguna will have a larger and more illustrious audience than the preceding AMA races, and I'm pulling for Ricky. If he wins this one, it's surely gotta feel more special.

(Little known trivia about Ricky - he speaks fluent Italian and knows all the curse words. )

And now that he's bagged his second win, I'll have to ask him how it feels to be a two-time winner. Go Ricky!

Ricky is a good guy, I went up to Oak Hill earlier this yr and it was during the week and he and I were the only two people there. I didnt know him and he didnt know me but for a whole day he took me under his wing and showed me the fast line around that track. He's a great guy and Im right there with you pullin for him.
