not going into gear

has been happening alot more since ive been to the track. ill go out and ride. not hard just cruising. ill be coming up to a stop sign or red light and ill down shift as im slowing down. some times it wont go into 2nd or 1st. like im already in 1st but im not. press down and nothing. i clutch all the way in. once im at a complete stop it will let me put into 1st. how big of a problem am i facing? run only full syn oil. did oil change bout month ago and have ridden a few hundred miles. can someone give me an insight on this. my factory warranty ran out last month. funny how things happen like that

Sounds like it could be clutch adjustment. There are ancient secrets to the fine art of clutch adjusting that go far beyond the little wheel on the handlebar.
Secrets that cannot be revealed to ordinary riders. You must take a journey of discovery to the inner sanctum of all moto knowledge, you will find the path you seek on a road marked 1960, beneath a sign that proclaims Motorcycles Unlimited.
This journey will be worth it.

i notice sometimes when my bikes hot and i downshift, it basically seems like it gets stuck between gears....so i let the clutch out a little and it finds the gear it wants to be in and then i continue downshifting.....

Have your clutch adjustment checked out. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. There are other adjustments than the bar wheel and they can make a difference.
I bought a bike from a guy that said the clutch needed to be replaced because it was slipping. Since I am one of the keepers of ancient wisdom I was able to adjust it and have since put several thousand trouble free miles on it.

My cbr does the same thing (64k miles). Also, if I have to brake hard, sometimes I'll have to let the clutch out slowly for almost every gear I'm in to downshift into the next gear while sitting at a red light.

same here....i figure it just needs to be adjusted a little.....although my clutch has had an abusive life at the dragstrip
