Help needed f4i wont start

So my bike has been sitting the the garage for about three weeks with out a battery, I had to pay somethings off before i could order one. When I got home and saw the package on my dinner table I was like a kid at Christmas, i rushed to my bike and got to work on it right away. After a little while working in that cramp battery tray it was complete, I went for the key slid it in turned it to the on position and heard the sweet sound of the fuel injection kicking on, but not before hearing a very small and short lower pitch hum that I've never heard before. And for the moment of truth i went to crank my bike and it instantly started to crank like a champ, better then I have ever heard it, but that was it just a crank and no fire! I have a power commander that looks fine and the smell of fuel coming out of exhaust so i'm pretty sure it's not a pump problem.. and ideas? any one? Please?

Check your fuses.
How old is the fuel in the tank?
Check to see if you're getting fire at the plugs.
Call me tomorrow if you need more help.

Use a spark tester or...Pull the plug out of the head, connect the coil to it, ground the tip on the frame/valve cover, whatever, and crank the motor. It should spark.

You do not need a specialized tool. Pull one of the plugs out and leave the wire/coil attached to it. Hold it with something insulated. Let the tip touch the block. Start the bike. If it flashes, makes a loud noise, and scares the out of you, you have spark. If nothing happens, go from there.
