If you run into any probs Ive torn down and rebuilt my 76 RD 400 at least 5 times. I can also get you a set of DG Expansion Chambers to open it up.

Freaking beautiful jewel. Congratulations. Who is the guy that restored it? I'd love to buy a bike from him in the future.

Impressive.

the guy that restored it did a ridiculously good job..he just bought an RD400 that he's going to do for himself...who knows, maybe he'll sell that in a few years. The amount of detail that he goes into is impeccable...changing out stainless bolts...I love it. Staton, you're a friend of John's up here in College Station, right? He's mentioned you a time or two...you guys going to Laguna this year?

Check out www.usa2strokers.com.
Thanks for the link, this bikes is actually Vaughan's bike from USA2strokers. The bike is running so flawlessly, I'm going to wait to put Expansions on it (though I want to in the worst way). I'll definitely be hitting you up from time to time for advice for vintage 2 stroke.

I wish I could edit my first post and tell ppl to skip to 4:20 of the video (the rest of its just a waste of your time). I'm hoping to make some helmet cam videos of my riding it in the near future.

that thing's amazingly clean. I would love to see it.

Congrats on the purchase. I'll bet that cost a pretty shiny penny

Yep. We are heading out tommorrow at 7:15 to Oakland. This will be our fourth visit. Can't freaking wait.

Are you headed out there as well?

A while back, I had an RD400 that I gave to John. He had Phil fix it up and it eventually went back to the original owner.

When I am in CS for a visit, I would really like to see the RD if you don't mind. Maybe we can hit 166 or 3090?

I gotta ask... How much did you buy it for?

Does this guy restore and resell bikes as a thing to do, or restore to keep for while until he says... "Bike's been alot of fun, but I wanna do another one."? ...(quoted from vid).
