Question March 22-23 2008 CMRA MSR-Cresson (Clockwise)

What this a wet race? Or cold? Does anyone remember that was there? I looked on the CMRA site and can not find track conditions.

It was not wet, but it was very, very cold and windy.

It looks like Ty was running 1:15's and top novices were running 1:23. Does that sound right?

If you pulled this from the results page, it's right. The grip with that track is very good, even when cold, but it's brutal on tires. You can't keep heat in them.

I froze my azz off out there and got a windburn to boot. Still climbed on the box with the mini endurance team I was recruited to ride for, though, so that was good.

One more question...

People are a few seconds faster CCW than CW. You would think that CW would be faster. Do you attribute this to people just knowing the track better CCW as opposed to CW?

I mean, not having to brake hard for the rattlesnake, like you do running CCW seems like it would make the track faster, but it looks like this isnt true.

hmmmm...

It's a different dynamic running opposite directions. Me, personally, I think it flows better running CCW, but that's just me.

I predict a sweep by Alonzo in the novice classes. If he doesnt crash.

And of course Tony in the lighweight twins. Lightweight bikes that is.

I hope so, but I heard Blake had done some private member days recently, so Gonzo's work may not come easily. Charge hard, boys.
