I thought so. There's no way that anyone PROPERLY setting up for a turn, was going the correct speed, and in the width of a residential street got going fast enough to do that much damage. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but it's hard to fool an old fart because they've seen it before. A lot of people don't agree with me on this, but a more powerful bike is easier to get going fast in a shorter distance. That's why I advise to start small. Other people will tell you that if you respect the power, you can learn on anything. To a certain extent, that's true, but then human nature comes into play........................ Let's just hope he learned his lesson.

Ok well everytime I call him and make fun of him I get alittle more of the story. So here we go. He stops at a stop sign checks traffic then goes to take off. Bike stalls he see the truck behind him and more coming he gets scared starts the bike over compensates the throttle takes off to fast panics, goes into turn with out turning hits curb goes over the bars tumbles across the ground. The ends

Cool it.

some people need to learn from experience regardless of the knowledge trying to be expressed through others around them.

Im glad they are ok, for starters.

Well you can be happy he is paying for it out of pocket cause he doesn't want insurance to go up. Glad to see your worried more about insurance than people.

Glad he'll lived to tell the story and warned all new riders about the dangerous of motorcycling. I guessed he's done for street riding. Let me know if he wants to sell it since track bike is out of the question for him.

No he's not done, he asked me to help him fix it, and one of the first things he said is he wish he would have listen and took the class. So I think he learned his lesson and has a new outlook on how fast things can go wrong when riding

did you say he doesn't have a m/c license? how'd he get insurance?

How hard do you have to hit a curb to do that kind of damage? Anybody know?

He got the bike yesterday morning insurance gives you 30 to get your endorsement. Also now I can't be mad at him anymore he's giving me the complete fairings off his bike for 220 plus I have to put the new ones on and do the work for him. Except for the tail the rest of the plastics are mint since in landed in the grass.

I can beat that. Yesterday at Cresson, I'm sitting on the starting grid watching level 1 riders come of the track. I see a brand new (paper tags) BMW all dressed out, custom paint and luggage come off the track. I turn on my seat with my right foot on the ground to get a longer look at this unbelievable site....and when I twisted to the left the bike leaned left and BAM! Dropped it like a dirty shirt. What a dumb !
