I understand. My neighbor Mac is a retired HPD Captian. I just wish you guys, and gals could have better protection.

Yeah... Jimmy runs out of gas.. Lol

We should make a "clumsy" thread...
People locking their keys in the trunk.. People dropping their helmets..people making it to navasota and realized they left their wallet at a gas station.. And more

I assume it is because they need to be showing their face when they pull someone over. If they had to actually take a full face helmet off to do this, it would invite more people to run, as they would have to put it back on and strap up to give chase.

I always thought a modular helmet would be OK, if this is the reasoning.

there are some PD's that are actually the right way round but you'll be hard pressed to find them in TX.

there's some good protection being worn in that vid, especially compared to what i've seen on the road. not a single jacket is seen, however they are just in a parking lot.

Having to make that many stops a shift, means having to take of the gloves everytime you're keying in that ticket writer.

Even my patrol gloves, which are marketed for patrol officers/tactical use don't won't let me manipulate my hoster and weapon as well as well vs being bare handed. I can't imagine trying to do things with motorcycle specific gloves.

I can't remember who, but I've been to more than enough officer funerals in Texas that I've seen a few agencies riding BMW's and 'Wings. Some of the guys had modular helmets.

The guys that are in motors understand the risks and lack of gear with the job. Most of the time isn't spent actually riding, but posted somewhere with a laser.
