i saw i cop on a bike yesterday pull a long power wheelie while escorting a "wide load" truck going down the feeder of the beltway.. He had just stopped traffic at one light and was speeding towards the next light needing to beat the big truck there to stop traffic again.. me and my girlfriend watched it..

it's gay.. he can and i can't..

i'm gonna be a cop so i can go ride some wheelies then reward myself with donuts afterwards cuz i can't get a ticket for it!

Eventually some soccer mom's kid on the freeway will snap a video with her cell phone and that will be that.

I was told by a HPD cop that wheelies aren't illegal. They can write for wreckless driving/speeding/etc...Officers discretion

A cool cop could probably cite you for display of acceleration but for the most part you're gonna get reckless driving and a trip to the pokey.

There is no law (currently) that specifically addresses operation of a motorcycle on one wheel but there is not a need for one. Reckless driving covers just about anything a cop wants it to.

what if its a controlled wheelie. wich should be obvious with no cars in the middle of nowhere. and a cop sees me. will i get pulled over? this is for the officers on the board.

I believe the Texas laws were updated in 06 and could swear that I read where it states that if either wheel is off the ground you are breaking the law.

Sometimes it's bad form to resurrect old threads, but my aunt passed away this week and the Dickinson cop on the white 'Busa Interceptor was one of the funeral escorts. On the way out of the church, I was checking out the bike with my dad and telling him that this is one cop you're not likely to get away from. I didn't get a chance to talk to the cop before we left, and as far as I know there weren't any wheelies (oh well ... ), but he did do a nice fly-by on the way to the next light.

I got arrested for reckless driving when DPS pulled me over for my wheelie. When i was headed to jail i gave a few jabs back at him saying. Not reckless if youknow what your doing. And its ok still loves us stipid people who do wheelies. And made Firemen so policemen would have heros. Dont you wish you could do that. Lol but then again I was enroute to jail so I had too.

I saw him at Mainland Cycle Center when I was interested in buying a ninja 1/2 a year ago. I said hi to him when he walked in but he didn't respond back. Not sure why he was at a Kawasaki shop
