What City, State or Federal Department is supposed to be in charge of fixing those cracks on the roads..??? Seems like the engineering crews are not aware that there are also motorcycles on the roads or they just do not care if someone gets killed. We need to make those Engineering Departments to be aware of this situation.

i tell ya what sux....the uneven lanes on 288....those suck at night you cant see em

they are repaving 288 both directions w/ asphalt and when its dark and you lane change wham, near tank slapper

going down not so bad, going up and you almost loose it at 75 mph....that is like a 3" transition......total b.s.

if i was to wreck, id have to kick some tail....anyone else here been down 288 in the last 2-3-weeks

I think that is a natural fault line under 290 at that spot. It is rough in all three traffic lanes and the beltway exit lane. It has always been rough there...

I was gonna mention that, but ya beat me to it. I usually ride in the left lane for as far as I can, then I'll move to one of the slower lanes. I've gotten back into the fast lane twice, and I WILL NOT do it again until it's fixed.

Outside of Georgetown, TX when I was in a college there, there was a back country road that had a dip in it that was like a sateboard half pipe. It was like 55 deg. down, 10 foot flat and then 55 deg. up. We're lucky that we were just 'cruising' when we found it, because it would wreck a car at anything over 35 MPH.

I think I have a picture of it, BRB

I pass over this all the time in my way to work. It is at the Yellowstone exit right past where 610 and 288 merge.

No you're right, it is the natural fault line for the road as it is where the two roads were combined but that is academic because you can still bust your if it catches hold of your tire. It's definitely an area of Houston that requires some attention and be addressed with motorcyclists in mind...

Yeah, it sucks right now. Trick is to change lanes on the overpass bridges where there is not any new pavement.

Dude! I was going to work on 288 N at about 5:30AM and didn't see the new lane just paved that night, when I switched lanes without noticing I started to go into a head shake. I just knew I was going down. I fought it so hard that when I came out of it my left hand and shoulder were hurting. I was so when I notice what it was. There were no signs or anything at that point warning you and no strips.

I recently heard that a bike crashed there about the same time and they are sewing the construction company. I really don't blame them.

I TOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT FREAKED OUT AT THE SIGHT OF SUCH LANE JOINTS. THERE ARE SOME POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS CRACKS ON I-10 BETWEEN 610 AND TC JESTER.
