I'm not advocating Holtsclaw's actions one bit, and I don't know him from Adam, and it surely sounds like he didn't mind abusing the power of the badge, but there are some overly loud motorcycles out there, most notably unmuffled HDs with straight pipes. We all know the ones. However, the problem with Holtsclaw is that he didn't seem to know a bike that busted the sound level from one that didn't, and passed out tickets like they were free donuts at his local Shipley's. That sort of agenda and indiscretion will land you where he is today...which is out of a job (but collecting a nice pension).

i like how he claims his rights were violated by him being reprimanded for his online postings. lol. what . his mistake was signing his name and HPD. you have no "rights" when you do like that.

Glad to see that guy off the street. He may have been a good cop at one time, but he obviously has some serious issues he needs to work out. Hope his retirement gives him some time to get over this stuff. I hope he also realizes that as a private citizen, he may want to keep his rhetoric confined to online forums. In-person confrontations could end up being very painful for him.

BUT, I think people would be surprised how many people do complain about "loud pipes." At my old apt, I would get complaintS about an HD that would "shake the whole complex" when he, or she rode.

My neighbor has made mention about the "loud exhausts" on my bikes and asked me if the pipes were legal. Im sure it was his way of telling me he doesnt appreciate me starting my bikes after an oil change, etc.

So yes, there are people that complain about loud exhausts.
I live right on a busy street and let me tell you, I get sick of HD's & sport bikes wrapping out their bikes in front of my house.
It's one thing to have loud pipes, but be considerate of others.
Nobody wants to hear that while they're trying to sleep.
When I leave early, I barely throttle the bike until I get outta the neighborhood.

Nah - I'd agree with him. Too many people misuse the word "right" when what they really mean is "want".

Thanks but I can't take credit. Holtsclaw did it all to himself.
