In over my head ...

Ever have one of those projects where four days later you've got your bike totally in pieces and you're thinking " ... now what?"

I'm sure I'll be looking back one day and laughing ... but I don't think it's any time soon.

Got some new fairings for my SV and thought it would be a pretty simple task of fabing some brackets and cutting some firberglass ... apparently not ... plus now my gauges are almost imposible to see and I think I'm going to have to re-rout some of my cables to get full steering throw.

I'm hoping for some really cold weather so I can at least say ... well, it's to cold to ride anyway.

how dare you wish cold weather on the rest of us, who did nothing to provoke thee?!?!?!zomg

anyways, every project I've ever had has been just like that (although it's usually been cars). I've found that it works much better to tackle it in pieces, and only one piece at a time. It's when you try to do the whole thing in one big step that you get worried. If you make small goals and stick to one at a time, you feel like you've accomplished something everytime you get past that one part of the proj. Plus, it keeps you fauxcused.

they fit ... kinda ... lots of wiggling, jiggling and cutting.... plus I suck at this whole fabrication thing ... lots of re-work and stuff with the brackets.

They originally were a set of GSXR-ish fairing made to fit the gen1 ... silly me to think it would be easy enough to fit it on the 2gen with just a "little" effort.

all after market fairings have trouble fitting both of my friends bought the gp style fairings one repsol and the other telefonica and they had troulble fitting them check your stay to see if its lined up right we had to heat his up and bend it to fit turns out you do alot more modifying than just changing the fairings
