Need help on 1995 cr250
So I have a 1995 CR250. It won't start unless i push start it ! i changed the spark plug air filter gas , and cleaned the carbs. When i try to kick start it the bike makes like a gun shot noise sometimes! After i push start it and run it for a while and then turn it off and then try to kick it again it will start! I have no idea what the problem is. If anyone wants to put thire two cents or can come and take a look at it that would be helpful..The bike is in the medical center so let me know what u guys think..
thanks in advance |

As stated before, check the compression. May also be running lean from clogged pilot jet. When that happens it has a hard time picking up fuel when cylinder is cold and dry.

definetly sounds like a carb issue, if its backfiring everytime you kick it it may be runnin rich due to a clogged jet or sticking slide or something, pull the carb apart and soak it good, and if youve never changed the reed since you ve owned it, put a new reed and cage in it.

Before you replace the reeds take the reed cage out and look threw it, you should not be able to see any light comming threw the reeds. If you see air gaps you can get just reeds or go aftermarket.
It could be a number of things stated above: low compression, carb issues, or reeds. |
