what we have here is a failure to communicate. Some people you just cant reach. etc.etc.
Keep your friends close- but keep your enemies closer! Rick I goitta agree with you about keeping the money here at home. but you gotta keep your fingers in everyone elses ass to make them jump when you say jump. That kinda political influence the public aint privy to. We just see how we give aid and money to the less powerful. Not how we leverage our fingers deeper..Buuutt. if they have so much money to spend and help other countries out,why dont they say FUCK YOU,and help out the people here in the USA out with that same money?
It's a little thing known as Diplomacy. Keep in mind as great as our country is, we rely heavily on foreign goods. Oil is the main staple. Of all the drilling/production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, the majority are NOT oil. They are natural gas. Think of it like the "if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" theory. Our country is regarded as a world power and a country that a lot of people will give their left nuts just to come here. How can a world power be respected if it does not help its brethren? All of this foreign aid we provide gives the US a lot of stroke, and this doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of all the benefits realized by contributing to other countries. Yes, we could use it here.
Yes, Bush may have made a few decisions you or I would not agree with. He's human. He's not infallible, but if G-dub could be re-elected for another term (remember FDR) he would get my vote again just like his dad did. There are more reasons than we will ever know as to why the government does things the way they do. That's just politics.
i hear ya. maybe people will think before they vote next time and not just absorb the 30 second attack ads about swift boat or flip flopping. think how many people they could've helped with the 100s of millions they spent on their campaigns...

Bush has gone through more shit than anyone. How would YOU handle the situation? THere are sooooo many factors that you can't even fathom. SOOO many people he has to please besides the people that hate him just because of the media's views and can't form their own opinions. (not syaing that is anyone here) My 2nd cousin was cheif of staff to Bush, so i got an inside view from things that go on that 99% of the population doesnt know. So it annoys me when people talk about how shitty of a president he is when they don't even have any way to base it off of. how would YOU handle someone executing a terrorist attack on your country from a known terrorist? How would YOU handle the oil crisis? the point is... "let he among us without sin, be the first to condemn" we all make mistakes in our judgement, and his just happen to be known to the world. He forgets to wipe his ass in the bathroom everyone knows it and a new conspiracy evolves about terrorists using toilet paper to transmit the next bio terorism agent... its just stupid. he IS qualified.. he IS trustworthy... and even if someone thinks he is not.. he is STILL OUR PRESIDENT. and maybe you will get your next puppet of the government to your liking the next election

here's a quote from the conservative fox news. "Expenses ranging from TV ads to a mariachi band pushed President Bush's re-election spending to $126 million last month, but record fund raising left him with millions in his campaign fund. Democratic rival John Kerry (search) has spent roughly $89 million."

i rarely see media diss Bush. they do, but it works both ways. people praise him just as much as they make fun of him. He does it to himself.
wouldn't you say popularity polls are something you can base a president's shittiness on? i think so. of course popularity ties back into media, but seriously....most news is probably more conservative than liberal.
how is he qualified? being born rich? serving as a governor who has very little responsiblity to begin with? how is he trustworthy? He screens his audience so people can't ask him meaningful questions. And when people do ask tough questions Scott McLellan is there to tell them it's none of their business or it's a compromise to National security. /rant off

Link doesn't work.
Obviously, there are different numbers out there
USA Today: $98m
ABC News: $200m
The Federal Election Commission States: $345m for Bush and $310m for the Loser (kerry)
maybe the reason they had to spend so much is because of the liberal networks (CBS,ABC,NBC) were trying to make a buck or two :keke:
Look at all the people that were "helped" because of all of that spending. From the camera, script, lighting, etc to make the commercials-to the people supplying the equipment to the people making the commercials to all of their employees. It wasn't just wasted money. At least you seem to have a strong opinion on something whether everyone agrees with it or not. Case in point-not everyone will agree w/Bush or you. Hell run for city council next go round, then mayor, then state rep, then governor, then run for Presidency. Maybe then you will be qualified to lead this great nation, and we can critique you when you really are doing the job to the best of your abilities...

Either way, I think the money could've been better spent and it just shows how selfish politicians are. I mean, why does a politician Want to be a politician? It's obviously not for money, it's definitely not because they are good people and want to help change the world, it's for power -plain and simple..and that's the scary thing. Because what Kind of people want power?....Also, I'd probably respect Bush a lot more if he had the humble beginnings that some do and actualy DID have to work his way up instead of just getting plopped into presidency by god knows who.
He was "plopped" into presidency by the American people.
This world revolves around 3 simple desires-money, power, and sex. Anything can be attributed to those reasons. Anything.
Granted there are people who do things out of the kindness of their hearts or to please God, but for the most part just money, power, or sex.
Mr. Bush did work his way up. After earning his bachelor's degree in history in 1968, he then served as a Fighter Pilot in the National Guard. In 1975 he earned his Master of Business administration from Harvard business school. Then, he moved to Midland, TX where he began his career in the energy business, and yes, "worked his way up".

Okay, the american people. But would the american people even know he was if he wasn't born well off with a lot of connections? It's not his incredible wit that got him into the presidency, in my humble opinion. And yeah, he went to ivy league colleges and passed (somehow). He went to the national guard (kind of). He had a career in energy where, from what I've heard, he wasn't that brilliant. He surely didn't run for city council, mayor, state rep, senator, etc. He got elected Governor. He got elected President. I don't see how he was qualified for either seeing as how he had no experience in government before that besides helping his dad's buddies campaign while he was supposed to be in the national guard.

back to the Bush thing I guess the thing that upsets me the most is that when he was running the first time he was doggin Clinton about his indiscretions and that he was going to "Bring honesty and integrity back to the whitehouse" but it's just seems that he has done more underhanded stuff i can remember any president in the past has done. To much cronyism, if that is how it's spelled. Now reading about how the ports company or someone involded gave bush senior over a million bucks for the presidentual library in college station.
With the carlyle group and halliburton and cheney seems that this president has taken the money from corporations to a higher level than before.
We all know that polititions are bought but it just seems that now it's out in the open and bush doesn't care that u know that he is on the take from the highest bidder.
look into some history with the bush family and United arab emerits. the 2 go way back altho most of the 911 guys came from there if i remember. read the 911 report, interesting
I guess the gas thing is one of my sticking points. Back with clinton and gore when gas got up to like a buck 20 republican congress was bitching about looking into it and investigating the gas companies and gas went back down.
now with all the oil guys in the white house nothing is done about it but us paying $2.50+ and exxon making $35.000.000.000 in PROFITS and yet it's ok with the whitehouse. also what about the price of diesel?
used to be 20+ cents cheaper than regular gas as it is easier to refine but now it's even with super unleaded if not slightly higher. Why? cus our economy needs diesel trucks and we have to pay it. no politition is gonna question it cus he gets blacklisted from the whithouse and his career is over.
off my soapbox for now.
again all these comments are just my opinion.
later all and stay safe

What choice did we have at the time of election anyway? Clinton's boy or Kerry? Kerry couldn't make up his mind as to whether to pick his nose or his ass! Republican or not, Bushg has done the best he could do under the Fuck-up Clinton has left this country in. I get a kick out of the morons who blame bush for 911. That wasn't planned overnight. Besides this country isn't a monarchy. HE doesn't make ALL the decisions here. You can't blame him for everything gone wrong with this place. I don't necessarily support EVERYTHING he does, like this port thing. I'm asking myself..."self W...T...big F!" But can you imagine how things would be under a President with no back bone in office?

Besides this country isn't a monarchy. HE doesn't make ALL the decisions here. You can't blame him for everything gone wrong with this place. I don't necessarily support EVERYTHING he does, like this port thing. I'm asking myself..."self W...T...big F!" But can you imagine how things would be under a President with no back bone in office?
What exactly IS going on with that anyway? 'Been outa pocket lately...The blips I've heard don't sound too good.
lol. there's some bias for you. Clinton fucked up the country, but when Bush is at fault....oh.. it's not a monarchy!:laughing6

as for all yoy bush haters, you actually think it'd be better w/ KErry........lol
good god.
what's the matter with Kerry? Someone please explain this to me. Was it because he changed his mind about something? That's a damn shame. He should've known in today's world it's better to be stubborn and just lie to make your first choice appear good.

reason i say kerry might not have been so bad is kerry changed his view on things whenever it wasn't or was the popular thing to do. that means he changed his view when he new the AMERICAN PEOPLE wanted or didn't want something. is that such a bad thing??? bush is saying with the port deal and other things that even if the american people don't want it he could give a shit cause he's going to do it either way.

you're saying Bush isn't spineless? Kerry has 3 purple hearts. He had the balls to go to war and Bush couldn't even show up for National Guard duty. In a fistfight, my money would be on Kerry
