Memorial Day ride to TWS for Parade Laps

I'll be hosting a Memorial Day ride. We'll run through the forest and out to Texas World Speedway and do the parade laps at the RideSmart event. We will hang out at TWS for an hour or two, then return to Houston via backroads to Hwy 290.

Meet Spot 1: Shell Station at 290 and Hwy 6 (NW Houston)
Time: Meet at 8:00 am
Riders Meeting: 8:20am
Kick Stands Up and 8:30 sharp

2nd Meet Spot: Valero Station at 105 & 149 (Montgomery)
Time: Meet at 9:30am (we should arrive around 9:45)
Riders Meeting: 9:50am
Kick Stands Up at 10:00am sharp

Pace will fun, yet conservative. We will devide into two groups if needed.

You must wear your gear to ride.
Helmet, Jacket, Boots, Jeans & Gloves are MANDATORY!
Knee Pads, back protector & leathers are recomended.

As always, no riders will be left behind..... So there is no pressure to keep up with the bike in front of you. ..... The pace will be conservative, so noobs and 2up riders please come out.

If you have never done a trackday, this is a great chance to go out and do a few conservative laps around TWS and see what all the hype is about. We will also sit in on a classroom session or two and try to learn something..... Yeah, you read that right..... A FREE CLASSROOM SESSION (or two) & PARADE LAPS are being offered by RideSmart.

Also please envite all of your friends that ride..... No matter what forum / group / gang that they participate. This ride is about getting people out to see how a trackday event works and how much you can learn.

that reminds me of a time in austin when i was on the highway and i heard a screech behind me. In the rear view mirror, i see a wheel (not just the tire, the whole wheel) fly up over the middle divider into opposing traffic. i saw it bounce a couple times, didn't look like anyone got hit. scary stuff. glad to hear ya'll were safe too.

Sorry to here about the close call on the way home.

Thanks to RideSmart for hosting our laps around the track and the classroom session. I hope that everyone was able to take a little something home that they can apply to their street riding.

It was a good ride. Group 1 I heard hit some nice twisties. Group 2 was a great noob group. No problems. All rode well within their skill levels.
