How to reset trip mileage

I have a 03 Cbr and I don't know how to reset the trip mileage. It has two buttons one says adj and the other says reset. I have held both and the same time, one at a time, press it repeatly, with engine off, with engine on I just want figure out how to do it. Does anyone know how it is done. I don't have a manual but read the one online and I still couldn't find it. I anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Hold down the reset button with the trip odometer displayed and the key on.

I tried it and it doesn't do anything. I held it for one second, then 5 seconds, I was even holding it like for a minute. When I took it to get service they reset it for me so I know it works.

Now that I knew how it really was done I just took off the rubber button and stuck the key in the hole and it worked put the rubber back on and I'm good.
