Well, I am here in Austin, checking on the weather at ECR, and it looks like it has cooperated so far, being sunny and in the 70s.
Hope to have you that attended chime in on what it was like.

What a great day. Slippery as hell in the mornings but the track came in nicely as the day progressed.

Thanks to RideSmart for putting on another great event.

i was just stoked to being back to holding my own in level 4... My confidence in my bike had been shot last year at cresson. Now that the brakes actually work i'm alot more comfortable

ok. Pics are up. After looking through them... I take back what i said about holding my own in level 4... my body position looks like shit!

I guess the years away from the track and the last 5 years riding around dallas has ruined me. As bad as my form was, i dont see how i didn't crash saturday.. I guess the few trackdays i've done since moving away from deals gap arent enough. And as depressing as street riding here is, and mush of a struggle it is to get to the track even just once a month or less.... I dont see the point in bothering with it anymore. I'm going to sit back and seriously re-think some things... Then there's a good chance there will be an '07 zx10 for sale...

I remember when I moved here from NC, some people told me there are some real good twisties out in the hill country. So I decided to go and try them out...lol

the real good twisties turned out to be some very gentle kinks in the road. That is exactly the thoughts I had after some rides....I guess you just don't know what twisties are until you ride them in western NC or in VA. That is where we used to go to play.
Anyways, I don't miss riding the street. Can't get what you can up north...so I didn't want to bother to keep pushing my luck in the genle twists. Sold the street R1 I had, got a track bike and never looked back.
Good luck whatever decision you make.

My new favorite track and I dont know what all teh talk about slippin was? TRack was great for me.

RS let us run until 6 pm. Its always nice when you make the drive, for an already inexpensive track day, and get like 8 sessions in!

Great track day. I love that track!

for those of us in grp 4 on cold street tires in the first session... It was a bit slippery. Especially over the rhinobond. Between the cold track and tires and the dust on the surface, traction front and rear was a little sketchy. it was much better for the rest of the day and got better as the day went on

My front end wouldn't stay down on the front straight if i got above half throttle.. it was fun. I pulled it up a lil higher one time around Right infront of Ben... it wasn't very hihg... just my way of waving as i went by and a bit of a joke since I was givin you guys hell for all the stunt shenanigans...
