This is the 4:00 pm session with the Advanced Run Group. Quite a few flybys from the racers while I was filming JetKillr. His incident occurs at 7:00 minutes into the video. You can see the guy in front of him almost highside. That started the chain of events.
Video is still processing but should be up shortly. This is raw video. I'll upload an edited copy with the data acquisition information tomorrow at some point.

Just watched the event at 7:00 mark. For sure not Jetkiller's fault, he was stuck out with no where else to go.Glad he is ok. Great footage Curt, saw Brandt in there for a few seconds too. I'm sure people will chime in and say he should have tried to dive inside but easier said than done. That looks like a scary corner to have someone check up in front of you.

 yea what he said. i mean i could have maybe made it on the inside but i made my choice on my line that i was taking and when that was messed up then i had to make a last second decision.

Damn Jetkllr, that did happen fast... looked like you were rollin' up until that point. tough call on making that dive. I usually try to make my passes on the inside (prior to turn in), but occasionally an outside pass is cool. I just worry about people freaking out and not holding their lines. Oh well, it is what it is....L4 ftw!

Good vid Curt. It actually, in real time, looked like the dude was right in front of me but was actually a little to my right when he got loose.
PS..stop leaving the door open for me going into the horseshoe.:D

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
I gave the inside line to the race guys...I said, the hell with it, let 'em have the inside and let them get through. It makes for cool photos running 3 or 4 deep through the horseshoe, even if I am the back marker.:D

lol yea i myself took a few lines through the horseshoe. i found that when i made a pass right b4 it that i usually had a good line right on the inside.

So how is the new ground surface? smooth?
maxgs

The new surface seemed to be grippy to me. I compared yesterday's data to last year and my speed through 7,8 and 9 hasn't changed.

looks like jetkillr target fixated on the guy whos backend stepped out because jetkillr immediately stands up the bike when it happens, jetkillr was way to the left of him when it happened or looks like so in the video.
sucks either way....:-/

That's not the way I saw it, and I was right there. JetKillr (Ryan) was taking a wide line through 1 for the last couple of sessions. I filmed in the previous session as well. He was wide again when the other gentleman lost the rear end of the bike. Ryan expected to ride around the guy on the outside as he was recovering and simply ran out of room and was forced off the track.

Glad he wasn't hurt. GEAR FTW! That muffler was FUBAR! Hope he can fix it up quick.

Not saying you are lying or anything, just was stating what it looked like in the video to me, it probably looked a lot different just because of the camera angle.
Fast forward the video to about 7:00 in high quality and you'll see what im talking about. The guys rear end starts to wobble bad and jetkillr reduces his lean angle immediately.
Edit: badass software setup you have there maxgs, are you an instructor for RS? The picture of you in the avatar looks familiar, you remind me of an instructor for ridesmart that rides a gsxr that was gray i believe. (same as in your pic lol)

oops I ment 6:35 or so in the video, not 7:00.
edit time of 5min FTL!

yea im sure i was fixed on him but i had to react so fast and maybe i made a bad choice i dunno. that happened to have gone down when i was entering turn 1 faster than i have ever done it b4, hence the wide line. just a series of events that led to a bad outcome. and as far as learning material. please anyone feel free to use it. i would say that if there is any traffic in turn 1/2 that you are not sure about 100% then be cautious. because you never know what will happen. thats what i learned. imma try and be back up and running July 4th at TWS (which happens to be my birthday too) and see if i cant get this track mastered. im taking the advanced riding school thing that weekend, or a plan to atleast.

Don't let anybody tell you that you made a mistake. It was an unfortunate incident. You had been riding quite well for the previous two sessions. Too bad the first video didn't work out.

lol yea i was tellin my brother that if that first video had been ok then i might not have ridden the last session. i was feelin kinda worn out already but i wanted that video haha. anyways its not that big a deal, im ok and i just got a lil scrape and a head ache. anything people say about me making a mistake i just brush it off. you ride, you learn, you get better, you get faster, you ride smarter. :thumb:

I hear you. I was very tired by the time we got around to filming. Had we not done that, I wouldn't have ridden either session.
