Easy. Oil filter wrench and a socket to take off the drain bolt. Not sure if you have to take off your fairings or not. Mine were a 5 min job.

probaly a 1/2 inch socket or wrench and a small oil filter wrench. if you dont have the wrench just stab it with a screw driver and unscrew. take off the plastics if you need to take off the filter.
also, i can not stress this enough. Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosy :BangHead:
off topic: did you get re-instated? why did you get baned?
dont know why,but its all good now,im gonna takethe fairings off and clean it all out how many quarts do i need?is it the same process as a car/truck?well i guess ill read my manuel it kinda helps huh.

3.4L if its just the oil change, 4 if you change the filter but thats on Kawi. on the case cover it should say something regarding the amount of Liters or quarts. or just do a search online for the bike and year. cycle gear is having a oil sale at the sharpstown store and you can buy filters at the auto parts store alot cheaper.

3.7 quarts for the GSXR.
Typically I put 3 quarts in and crank it up for a few seconds. Kill it and let it level off and then top it off to just below the top line in the window.
Be sure not to overtighten the filter, also don't overtighten the plug as the GSXR's are notorious for stripping the pan threads.
Fram makes a better filter nowadays than they used to but I prfer either K&N oil filter or the Hi-Flo brand.
For those of you not mechanically inclined, we do a full oil change and 21 point inspection (lube and adjust chain, check brakes, top off fluids, clutch adjustment, etc..) for $41.50 plus tax.

every bolt on a gsxr is metric..more like a 15 mm...
and i would suggest you call some of your buds that you ride with and let them be there to give you some pointers..i mean it's not hard..also if you still have your owners manual thats some help right there as well...if not find a shop that will change your oil but will let you see what there doing...you'd be surprised how many will let you do that..esp if you tell them you just want to see them do the work.it is your money and your bike

Considering the cost of oil and filter, that's actually a really good price.:icon_thum

make sure you use bike oil, or castrol. or youll be changn clutches soon. most auto oils have a deturgent that kills clutchs.

most auto oils contain Moly. If you use an automotive oil, make sure it says "without Moly". that's what kills your clutches...

Depends on what kind of OIL and Filter being installed.
Stock filters run $15.00 and up.
Synthetic Oil runs $2-6 a quart
Now the cheap fram filters are $5.00 each and some change.
Regular 4 stroke Castrol is around $2.30-$3.00 other brands.
Total- est. $15- $20.00 for the cheap version.
$20-$30 for the quality filters and oil.
Now if money of no object and you want everything done right, pay a professional to do it. Not that its hard to change the oil but you need to stay on top of your changes. The engines will last for many long miles.
