I have a 2004 R6 and have been thinking of swaping the stock forks for a pair of R1 forks. Ive read many different opinions on inverted forks but before I go thru with this I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and how were the handling gains if any?

At a street level there would be no benefits by going to upside down forks, plus, by swapping in R1 forks the valving won't be correct for your bike.
If you're really hung up on having inverted forks, look for some off an '05 R6, you'll need the upper and lower triple too, but besides that they'll bolt right up.

IMO for less money you'd do better having your forks resprung / revalved for your weight.

Yea, Ive been reading that the R1 conversion only benefits heavier riders and i only weigh in at about 145 with gear.
