it's an overflow tubes/hoses.
If you overfilled gas that's where it will come out.

just a backfire
I'd look at replacing that chain fo sho! - rusted and pitted FTL...I'd check your sprocket too as that might need replacing as well. Can't see it, but with a chain looking like that I'd venture a guess that the sprocket is deteriorating as well.
Patrick from MU has a Pre-Ride checklist. That chain is definitely on it! Not calling you out, but more of a hand to help keep your skin in place bro.

:eek3: and your chain looks like that. Man you need to do major maint. and take care of that thing. A bike is only as good as the owner. Treat it like shit and it will not last 10,000 miles. Take care of it and it will last forever.

change the oil. I only say that cause chain and sprockets are not cheap. There is a lot of new guys that ride their bikes and never maintain them. Then they can not figure out why they do not run or last very long.

you may be stuck with them. But looks better. If you ever need help with anything like that just ask. Many folks on here would be more than happy to help.

Agreed. As Maxgs pointed out to me a few times, keeping a clean bike will enable a rider to spot malfunctions much earlier. This in turn can keep maintenance costs down, and of course, keeps the bike safer.

$80-110 vs it snapping and destroying your plastics and possibly your leg? Sounds like a pretty good price to me.
