Hey all,
I went down to the shop today (cyclegear in sharpstown here in Houston, TX) to check out some helmets. I tried on a variety of KBC, Shoei, and Arai Helmets. The one that seemed to fit the best was an Arai Quantum II. Does anyone here have this helmet and have any positive/negative things to say about it? If I'm gonna spend that much on a helmet I wanna make damn sure there's not something that will drive me nuts about it in 2 months.
Also, are there any other helmets from other manufacturers that fit similar? I haven't tried AGV, Suomy, etc, but I could try to find them.
Thanks all.

thats a bad ass helmet. id take that helmet over an HJC or KBC or AGV any day. And suomy is just too overpriced because of the nice graphics they have, its a good helmet but IMO its overpriced for all that fancy schmancy stuff

the wind deflector are known to fall off on old quantum, not sure of the new revision. probably the same. i think this was on all arais? i have no info, just from what i read online back then when i was researching.

Uuhhmmm, no offense but typically Suomy is less expensive then Arai.
Either way Arai is a great helmet. I've owned aquite a few over the years and they've always performed well.

i say buy it. the more comfortable the better since you should be wearing it all the time. id stay with the better brands, shoei, arai, or suomy.

I will tell you straight up that is a Badass helmet. I myself have a Arai and they are very confortable. You can also change out the inter lining and check pads. I work at the Cycle Gear in Ausitn, and I know for a fact that you are getting the best price for the helmet. Yes you are right the price for the helmet is high, the reason being is that the helmet is a poly not plastic, two the helmet is a 06 model... you can find the 05 helmets on price cut cause the shop wants to move them out for the new inventory. The reason I say that it is the best price in town is that Cycle Gears Best Price, this insures it is if not they will match the price. Also to the question about 2 months i might not like it? very doutfull, I have had my Arai for 2 years. Plus the shop has 30 day exchange policy and %100 Satafaction on the helmet.
I wreaked at about 130 with my arai and barly felt the impact to the head.
If you go into the shop talk to Albert he is the manager and tell him that Shayne from austin says whats up.

My bad the quantum-2 is a o5 helmet. you might also be intrested in the corsair as well. There is more selection in paint schemes then what you see in store. You can Speical Order through Cycle Gear. here is a link for you

Albert is the one who showed me the helmet. Are you the guy who wears the Alpinestars textile stunt jacket? He was showing me that jacket and told me about a friend in Austin who wears it year round.

He was prolly talking about someone else in austin. I mostly were my tecnic chicane year round. I also have a alpinestar textile that is ever confortable year round as well. I mostly use that one for my passagers. Tha Chain
