View Full Version : Insurance vs Driving licence
Hi !
I have a problem right now :
To get my driving licence, I need to bring a clean bike, insured registered...
But as I do not have Texan driving licence but only my international driving licence, I can not get an insurance for my bike, so I can not take my driving licence :banghead:
I am looking for a solution but it is hard.
I will go to take my car driving licence next tuesday, I was wondering if I could pass the 2 driving licence at the same time but still : I need to bring an insured bike...
I was thinking of borrowing someone's bike only for the 10 minutes of the test but... I do not know anybody who could lend me his bike :-/

Take MSF, it will dismiss you from having to do the DMV test. MSF classes have their own bikes, you need no insurance. Not to mention the learning experience and the insurance discount. I do believe they require a driver's license but international may suffice. PM Challen and ask him what they can do for you.

You mean that I could get a driving licence through MSF ?

Yes if you take MSF all you have to do is take your certificate they give you at the end of the class up to the DMV, take the written test, pay your $$ (15 i think) and your off with your new Class M license. :thumb:
edit: yours may be more than 15 since you are not just getting a class m addition but you are getting your first TX license. so it will prolly be 25 for you.
And... Do you know if it is possible to take the written test before taking the MSF course ?

Yes, but why? Unless you just happen to enjoy standing in line twice vs once. Take care of it all at once.

Because I will have to take the car driving thing also. :D
I pass the written part this week, so I will have the MSF this week-end and hopefully I will pass the driving part for the car on tuesday.
If I did not pass the written part this week, I would not have time to take written part for bike + driving part for car at the same day (I did go to DPS very early to be first in line so I was at work at 9h30) :)
I should have explain everything from the begening :notworthy:
