RideSmart Corner Work Program
Even wondered how you can get free track time? Well, now you can with RideSmart!
About the program:
One of the benefits of riding with RideSmart is the Corner Worker program offered by the school.
The program allows a person to volunteer for a track day event to serve as a corner work official.
In exchange, RideSmart will provide a credit to such person, which may be redeemed for a free track day with the RideSmart organization.
Full day served as a corner worker will yield a one full credit (one free track day). Half day served will equal to half of a credit (am until noon, or noon until end of day).
How to Earn Credit for Track Time:
Anyone interested in this corner work program should send an email to RideSmartCW@Gmail.com
The email should contain:
Name
Cell/Tel #
Email address
Corner work date(s) of interest
How many corner work days you have done
***NOTE***
It is imperative that you provide email and a tel # at the time of cw request.
Without this information we will be unable to place you on the roster.
This is to allow us to touch bases with you and confirm your commitment a few days before the event.
Not having enough cw volunteers exposes the school to the possibility of not being able to run the event (corner workers are mandatory).
None of the information you provide is given or sold away. EVER. TO ANYONE. We are the only holders of it.
**********
A response will be issues by RideSmart about the request, within a day or two.
There are several options when choosing how to work. Most people choose to work a full day, thus earning a full track day credit.
However, some do like half day work. In such cases, volunteers should approach RideSmart with a partner they will share the day with. Both volunteers need to provide all of the required information via email, and on the day of the job, both volunteers are required to show up at the event before riding commences (as outlined in the corner worker document, which is provided via email to all corner work volunteers).
Both volunteers need to decide who works the first half of the day (am until lunch), and who works the second part of the day (lunch until end of day).
Other options are having someone do the work for you, while you ride on the same day. It is an attractive option; especially if your loved ones do not mind volunteering time while you ride.
We are very flexible, and will consider a wide variety of circumstances and scenarios for the work.
A confirmation of placement on the cw roster will sent as soon as the rider is placed on the list.
A corner worker information document is sent within 5 days of the event. It describes the duties and responsibilities of corner workers.
Any volunteer who does not get such email within that time should contact RideSmartCW@Gmail.com as soon as possible.
At the event, we will check attendance of all cw personnel. Those absent will be automatically taken off the list.
Please observe arrival times, as the event cannot be delayed for any reason.
Once the day is completed, all cw people will meet in the CW staging area.
All equipment will be accounted and handed in.
We will then issue a coupon to each CW person that did the work. Those who worked half day will not receive coupons since they will have redeemed the coupon during the day.
These coupons will have your name, as well as a coupon code, which you will need to redeem for a track day.
Please keep these coupons in a safe place. Please record them down in a computer so that you can retrieve them easily. They are also case sensitive.
Should you have any questions at all about the new corner work process for RideSmart, feel free to email us at, well, you guessed it... RideSmartCW@Gmail.com .
How to Redeem Credit for Track Time:
It is important to keep in mind that RideSmart, as any other motorcycle school, reserves a specific number of rider spaces in each rider session during a typical track event. That number, sometimes referred to as a rider cap, must remain fixed to avoid overcrowding during events. For that reason, it is very important for all track credit holders to follow credit redemption process to ensure they are registered for an event
One thing we have noticed is that there is an increasing trend from corner worker credit holders, to neglect registering for an event, arriving at the track without notice or registration, with expectations to participate as a rider.
Due to the fact that RideSmart enjoys immense popularity as a motorcycle school, and has a great following of riders who like to donate time to get track credit, arriving at the track without registration exposes a person to being denied participation as a rider. It is a situation we try to prevent; therefore registration is the only way to reserve yourself space on the rider roster, and having a blast at the track as a participant rider.
As of now, all cw credit redemption takes place through the RideSmart online registration page.
Please follow these steps to redeem your credit. Instructions on credit redemption are also printed on the back side of the coupon you will receive.
All CW credit holders can redeem their credit for any RideSmart event, and for any of the following rider levels:
- LEVEL 1 - NOVICE
- LEVEL 2 - INTERMEDIATE
- LEVEL 4 - ADVANCED/OPEN
Level 3 - ADVANCED-Ty Howard Race School is a class with additional cost.
Those who wish to redeem their credit for the Ty Howard Race School should contact us, an provide the specific date they want to participate. We will then modify the coupon to credit them the full price of a regular track day for the specified date (equivalent to the cost of a L1, L2, L4 track day). They will still be responsible for covering the additional $50.00 for Ty's school course.
1. Upon return from the worked track event, email RideSmartCW@Gmail.com requesting activation of the code. We will then activate the coupon for use. Keep in mind, that once activated, the coupon will be redeemable, and if you lose it for whatever reason, someone else can redeem it.
2. Ensure you have created an account with RideSmart CLICK HERE TO CREATE A RS ACCOUNT (https://www.ridesmart.info/catalog/create_account.php).
The account is one that you would normally use to purchase a track event from RideSmart. It has your email address and a password that you use to log into the track day shopping page.
3. After you have created an account, login using those values.
4. Go to the date you want to attend with RideSmart.
4. Select the track day (appropriate rider level), and place it into your shopping cart.
5. During check out, there will be a coupon redemption box. Type the coupon code into the box and the shopping cart will recalculate accordingly.
6. Complete the check out process, providing your credentials.
During check out, you will notice that a very small amount will be charged to your credit card.
The fee will be 1%, and will be either $1.00, $1.20, or $1.35, or $1.50, depending on the track you select. This fee covers the overhead that is needed to appropriately schedule and guarantee spots for cw participants.
We do hope you understand. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.
Upon completion of check out, your name is automatically placed on the rider roster for the requested level. Now, you follow all other procedures as any other rider does, during the course of track day preparation.
NOTE:
Due to rider spot constraints and because of great interest in attending track days with RideSmart, we cannot guarantee anyone a spot unless they have registered online, and receive an email notification, which is a confirmation of order.
Credit Redemption Validity Dates:
Your track credit will be valid for the entire current riding season, plus for the entire following riding season.
For example, if you obtained a credit in 2008, it will be valid for the entire 2008 season, and for the entire 2009 riding season.
Anyone who holds track credit from seasons prior to 2007, please contact Dave at 512.469.9491.
Your help with corner work helps us tremendously, and we hope to continue to serve each other for many years to come.
Thank you, and remember, ride safe - RideSmart
