ufo31 & carbonR1 have that generation R1 I believe. Maybe they could help you out.

you should be able to get just about anything you want for that year R1, im not so lucky b/c i have the 98, there are a few things i want that i cant get for that specific year model..

most parts are interchangable for the 98-01 with only a few exceptions.

UFO has sold his 1 and has gotten a different bike now, but i took his 01 body work and have fitted it to my 98 with no issues at all. so you should be able to do anything to it that you want,, pm for more info if you would like,... be glad to help you out..

I haven't owned a yamaha but I would say that from experience looking for parts you just have to get online and look around for stuff... suspensions, rearsets, bodywork... just about anything you should be able to find by searching online. EBAY is a great place to look for things and NO ONE will beat ebay. I've gotten some crazy prices from some stores in the past and you look for the same prices on ebay and find it for much less, even half the price sometimes. :icon_bigg I've done this for a few yrs now and so far I can't complain.
I highly recommend ebay before any place else.

indysuperbikes, cyclemall, are just some other places online where you could look. If you're lookin for a place in town there's always Motorcycles Unlimited, Cycle Gear, or a motorcycle dealer. You could even look on motorcycle forums perhaps the r1-forum. People sell and buy parts from there all the time and you can post questions about R1s that people from all over the world will answer. yeah, that reality stuff sucks, he can't ride his bike in the current state. he;s had it what 3-4 mos. crashed already, now he wants speed parts.......... :BangHead: :gesture:
