First of all my name is Tony and I dont have a bike yet...I've been wanting to ride for years but never had the nuts to go and buy a bike... I've finally decided to do it!! hows it going man im in the s.e. as well do like these peeps said take the msf you will be surprized at how much you dont know....Then get your self a good solid bigginer bike..I dont know what your style for bike is but if its a cruiser then just get the litest one you can find if its a sport bike look at the ninja 250 and 500 both great bikes by them used put alot of miles on them then move on up to your dream bike...
