View Full Version : Toasted me Turbo

well, not toasted, it seems as if the turbo has some shaft play in it, I tore the critter down for inspection last night and blammo, I find shaft play. So's I went around the local guys and called central motive power, North American garrett distributors. I feel pretty certain I didnt get the right turbo, or basically it didnt have the carbon thrust washer needed for gasoline use. They confirmed,
lesson learned, do things yourself. I am working with Patrick at CMP and am either going to get this one redone with the correct seal, or am going to use a warner-ishi rhb-52. A slightly larger turbo, but is known to work flawlessly with the draw through design. I'll have more info on Monday I'm sure , right now, I'm not gonna run this turbo. I am way happy with its performance and would like to re-use, especially since I'm set up with garrett flanges etc. My buddy is running the warner-ishi for 3 years now and he has no problems yet, no oil loss or consumption and can do a rolling burnout so far you just get tired of watching. :eek3:

eh, not to scary, its an easy fix. just sux it has to be fixed already :laughing6

damn that sux....But atleast it will be back on the road soon....I would like to have a crack at it too if i could...I will take it easy on you i promis..

I'll back ya up for the turbo boys scooter, thats if you wish. Just waiting on placing an order for the AMS-1000. Just got the new clutch in and hope it can hang. We should get together some time scooter.

hell yes its fun and this turbo is a bit bigger, smidgen more oooomph = hanging on to the apes and flying like mad :eek3:
bring it, I wanna see how it stacks up against others, sport bikes of various sizes and other v twins of course. Can't wait to run Greenway's bike also
