Awesome Cycles came highly recommended, and totally worth the money. The people who answer the phone are a bit rude sometimes, but the instructors were... well, awesome!

Speeding???? I can barely make it down the street without stalling out. It will most likely be a long time before my girl-nuts grow in enough to exceed the speed limit. ;)

Are you being facetious? That's not very nice... I stall because I'm still learning my friction zone, and I'll admit it, I'm a little scared.
How do you teach someone to be more courageous??? :notworthy:

just joshin w/ ya
but yeah another reason i don't recommed 600SS bikes as first bike, power delivery is not noob condusive.
just takes practice, and just sit in 1 place and rock back and forth easing out the clutch like you did in class.

;) ;) ;)
You are probably right a 600 is a little much, but 250s look silly to me.
It's a fashion statement - I know how superficial is that???

I agree with staying on your street.
I had Captain M start in the street in front of the house. Rocking back and forth to learn to feel the friction zone. Then rolling 10 feet, stopping, and doing that over and over. Then rolling 30-50 feet and stopping. Then once you're comfortable with that, go far enough to shift to 2nd, then brake. Then make your way around the corners, or around culdesacs. Eventually making your way far enough down the street to shift into other gears, and practice downshifting as your brake coming up to a stop sign.
Sooner or later you'll be comfortable enough cruising around your neighborhood, then venture out.
