Got the dough what's the best? Miles are high. Will need big service in 2K miles. $600+ to do.

routine service on my 01 VFR was $400+, done at Motorcycles Unlimited...shocks, chain & sprockets can push that way over $600+

Thanks Linh for backing me up. Basic valve adjustment, oil/filter change and chain tension clean lube $200. With 20K+ miles,I would expect sprocket and chain may need changing, possibly some bearings. I also get a discount at my local dealer as I bring in more than a few bikes a month.
Maybe you're a service tech for Honda and can get me a better deal NINEmmREGRET. If you are, you know standard labor on bikes at the dealership is $70/hr. I'll wait for your PM so you can make some $$ on the side. I'll give you $35/hr and provide the parts discounted from Ron Ayers. In fact you can come use my tools at my shop.
I can tell you from experience that Honda's are fairly cheap to service, but as they depreciate you really need to love your bike because there is a point when services and/or maintenance cost a substantial percentage of the bike's value. That's the love part. If you have a $3500 bike and it costs $300 to service that's 10% of value. Where do you draw the line?
How about the Ducati. I've owned 4. 2003 749S, 2003 999, 2000 ST4, 1999 900SS. Service intervals every 3K. Most can be done yourself. Every 2nd 3K is major. Tough to do yourself without really expensive tools. $800 every second service. AM I nuts? Back me up Duck owners!
OOPS! You drive a car. Does it ever get in for service? What kinda bike do you get serviced?
Need I go on. This isn't the first bike I've bought or serviced. If I'm going 100+ mph on two wheels I would like it to be checked out by a qualified technician before I trust someone else's unknown. No offense to ThEsLoOnE, but safety is safety. Your bike looks fairly clean and well maintained from the pictures.
By the way ThEsLoOnE, I would like to come up this afternoon to see it. Can you please call me at # in PM so we can arrange a time.
Sorry to rant and rave, but I really don't like board police.

i work at northwest honda and our labor is 59.00 an hour.
the services on the CBRs are about 160 at the HIGHEST. and most of them dont take an hour. where you got 600$ from is WAYYY beyond me
what you said about the ducati's is true, but you are WAYYY off on the honda part. :gesture:
