Wet Black bad ass stuffs

These rims were supposed to end up black lip with orange centers, they ended up screwing up and I couldnnt get the coat of orange to stick worth a crap on the rear wheel, so we ended up doing them over again in wet black and the client is going to have the center airbrushed. It really killed us with all the work and then to fail like that, the front rim looked awesome, but w/o the back to match, = fail on our part. We are researching and working on a better way to tape off and heat w/o tape glue failure. maybe the answer is to cover the basecoat with a bitchin clear that can be wiped clean of glue w/o destroying the finish. we will conquer it though:keke::nod:

cant bake wax and have it stay where ya want it., plus ifn I wax it, then the tape wont stick.
I will probably be trying the new clear I have over the basecoat, its a fuel resistant clear and can be wiped with goo-gone when cured, that should eliminate the worry with glue failure if it happens. I'll whip it for sure and figure it out, there is a few reasons nobody else is doing multi-colors, to time consuming in hand labor, and also to much of a gamble, as in redo of work many times for one tiny teensy weeny speck of orange in the wrong place.

hahahahhaha, but if you would have seen the whole bike, its wicked sick with some high dollar graphics with orange. they would have been beautiful with that bike.
I agree, the black layed really flat, these rims were highly polished and smooth and the end result reflects well.

the only reason there was a shiner is because we ran out of the good shit...on another note, we will conquer the TWO COLOR process so, dont be afraid to send some rims for two color...be prepared for the new price of $200.00 per rim for two color jobs.

I'll be cheating on my 2 color wheels. Black and polished stainless with no masking to bother with. However, I will have to lace them ;)

I really like those wheels, though. First machined wheels I'd even consider on a Harley.
