Ahhh if only we could get a good Chute Boxe stomp...it'd be like the good ol days again haha...I still remember a few Shogun stomps...straight nastiness. Machida will have some fun but I don't think it'll be a straight asswhoopin'...Penn will dominate Sherk though. Penn is in that Prodigy state of mind right now bro

I want to see tito stomped so flat he's molecular. he's the least talented, most self-promoting, whiny, fVckstain of a fighter. I hate that dude almost as much as I hate phil baroni. I DO miss those stomps and axe-kicks too.
it's funny, I use penn and sherk as examples all the time. I refer brett jr (the guy I have been telling you about) to penns' rubber guard, and sherks' hands in front of face style for standup. kinda off for a kid I'm teaching muay thai to, but I really feel it's good form.

Yeah, I try to use a game similar to Penns as well from the bottom but I usually can't stand to be on the bottom (Wrestler mentality) so I get my ass out of there as quick as I can. I only practice it so I am efficient from the bottom if I ever get in trouble. I FCUKIN HATE Phil Baroni...guy irks the shyt out of me...them roids carry him. Sherk has a decent defense but I personally use a mix of Quinton's cage and a boxers head movement dependent on what's goin on and how tired I am. And hey, you have to implement whatever the most effective concepts in your game to be good so if another stance/set up works better even though it may be adverse to tradition, I say go for it. Whatever works right!? :thumb:

I will agree that he was a better coach than dumba55 ken shamcock. much better actually, and in person he may really be a nice guy. his problem is he blames everyone else for things that go wrong. he lies, he's like a 5 year old and that's not good for the sport.
I like working from the bottom. I get to rest, counterstrike when I see opportunity, frustrate my opponent. wait for the enevitable posture up and WHAM arm bar like a mofo!

I wanna see that idiot lesner (the guy with the dick tatoo pointed toward his mouth)or kimbo with a real fighter, like sammy shilt or fedor, or maybe josh barnett or noguerra. hell sapp or kimo would make better opponents than these two had.

Haha...yeah you probably have a really relaxed game then. I'm kinda hyper active lol...I definitely need to work on my patience. Oh well, it'll come. N yes Tito does have a bit of the whiny baby syndrome. Lol, Lesner has a dick tattoo? BWAHAHAHAHAAA....:rofl: That's pretty ghey but yeah I kinda want both guys to get a lil experience before they face top comp like that. Kimbo isn't quite there yet but I think he has teh potential to be a force to be reckoned with once he "finds himself" an identity in the MMA ring. He's been training with Bas so he takes it serious which is the first step...gotta give him cred on his chin. Dudes got a helluva chin though as much is yet to be seen against some top competition. Again, I think he'll be pretty good though not world champion of any significant org (for long n e way cause is seems he is doing pretty good in elite xc and they are rising...he couldn't beat a Barnett or Nog )...I think he actually have to drop down to 205 after a few bouts with the top big boy contenders. As far as Lesner, dudes got the size to be a world champ. The question is going to be his "heart" and his skill level. Bullying folks ain't gonna get you far in mma. He'll need to get his ground game in order and then we'll see him advance. All he needs is a decent boxing game to do well in the sport, let me add that he'll need to be able to check them kicks or he'll end up like Severn v Rizzo in the 90's. Where you watching teh fight at?

as a bigger fighter. thats all I used to work on even with my kickboxing background. like tz said. rest is key for me. saul calls us bottom feeders opportunity hunters.

Lol, I hear you...I play from the bottom in practice no doubt. I just hate to be there when I'm rollin with somebody I don't know or where I'm in a more serious setting. If it counts, then I like to be on top...usually I work from half guard or side control...kinda hate mount so I rarely go there unless it's just to get the points [within the confines of a grapplin match] and then I go back to side control...got a shytload of subs from there but Kimora would have to be my bread and butter, transition arm bar if I go to knee on the belly and the guy I'm on makes a mistake while defending...

Speaking of Muay Thai...you know any good camps around town? And I'm not trying to pay $300 to train twice a week either...Saul is too far btw, what about Kru Pong. I am under the impression he has a shytload of fighters though. I want a smaller camp

I will ask my brother he still trains.

the more mounts you practice. the better your overall skill will be. nobody practices mounts anymore.

Good shyt. N yeah as far as the mounts are concerned, I think nobody really practices um anymore because of the various dynamics relative to each individuals game. I know I don't really practice um because I generally have a pretty good base as a natural wrestler. Also I've found that you are farely limited from mount UNLESS it's within a vale tudo fight which of course tends to prove the mount position rather advantageous. But as far as straight grapplin, you have so many more options from other positions. From the mount, in a no gi fight, you have what subs: Neck crank, strangle, arm bar and mmaaaaayyyyyybeeeee a v-lock (but you risk getting rolled). From side control you have a verrrrryyyyy wide range of subs so I think that's why most tend to stay away from mount and use it as more of a point-advantage/transitional type position...
