I need help. I am planning to go ahead and purchase some good riding boots. I need some feedback, regarding what kind or which shoes are better and more comfortable.

Please advice.
Thanks in advance :icon_thum

If you are doing serious street riding, trackdays, or plan no racing... I'd recommend spending as much money as you can afford on gear, it's one area you shouldn't be a tight-ass on.

+1 for Sidi... got mine earlier this season, and love them!

Yup... Sidi. If you're gonna be a bear, be a grizzly. Get the Vertebra Corsa model. Don't skimp on protection.

I have Sidi race boots, Joe Rocket touring boots, and used to have Alpine Stars race boots. They all fit differently. I would try to try on a few brands before you buy. The Alpine Stars were great, but the Sidis fit my foot better than the A-stars. I would go w/ fit over brand preference.http://powersportsofhouston.com/images/annimated_gifs/twocents.gif

LOL... I don't have any problems shifting with them...

That was meant only as a joke. I'm sure he's looking for those Stormtrooper type boots.

My Harley boots are the most comfortable shoes I own, btw...

Most dealers will carry A-Satrs and/or Sidis. Do your research via the web so you know what the current models are and a shop may offer you a discount on "last years model" or something along those lines. I try to support my local shop(s), but know that sometimes you can't pass up the incredible deals over the net. Just make sure you know what size you need.

I know Powersports of Houston (Powersports of Houston (http://www.powersportsofhouston.com)) has Sidis and some Joe Rockets in stock. Not sure if Motorcycles Unlimited (Motorcycles Unlimited (http://www.motorcycles-unlimited.com/)) stocks boots. If they do, it will be one or two of the top tier brands (ie- A-Stars, Sidi, Joe Rocket, Teknic, etc.) Give your local shop a chance to meet (or come close) to net prices before your order over the net.

A good on-line site for gear is this one: New Enough (http://www.newenough.com/index2.htm)
Great closeout section. Only down side is they are in Texas and therefore charge tax.

Cycle Gear carries the alpinestars supertechs, which are my favorite boots for all day riding or track. They fit me great and give excellent protection. I wear the a* GPS-3 when commuting because they're easier to walk in.

I dont think you can go wrong with Sidi Vertigo, Oxtar TCS, or a*.

Another excellent but expensive option is the helimot daytona securities.

They are built to last and offer superior protection...but cost a few bills.

I have Alpinestars and they've provided very good protection... but they aren't comfortable at all.

I've been in 2 big bike crashes and 2 TMGP crashes and all I've had is a pretty bad abrasion (which I think was due to the poor fit). They were ALOT cheaper than the Sidi's at the time and have been great. If they fit you well... then I highly recommend them.

I used to race in Alpinestars, good boots but they were'nt real comfortable.
My Sidi's are real comfortable and crash well. Typical Motohouston discount is 10% off list price on current model boots. I've got some new in stock as well as a bunch of the Track Leather rental ones so we can get you sized correctly.
