be really careful, when the temp drops, those tires get super slippery....and unless your running tire warmers, in between sessions the tires will cool off considerably

Even if the temps are cooler, a key point is whether or not the sun is out. If it's mostly sunny and still in the 60's or higher, you really don't have to think about it.

Lets hope that AccuWeather is correct! (http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&myadc=0&traveler=1&zipcode=77840&metric=0)

I'm really looking forward to getting some track time since I missed the Oct. 17th event due to work. Lets see... clutch on the left... throttle on the right. Yesssssssssssss! I am so there.

I e-mailed Jerrel a few weeks ago about cornerworking the morning and riding A in the afternoon, but I haven't heard back from him. So, hopefully I'll be there. Jerrel, please get back to me at BubbaRay75@hotmail.com

Any of you guys that have never been before and want to, just post up here and there will be guys that can give you a ride and provide lots of the small things: cooler, tools, chairs, pop up tents, trailering, etc. If you wanna go, all you need is your bike and gear. Me and the guys I go with can help you out w/ just about all the rest to make it a little easier. Shoot me an e-mail or a PM and we'll talk about it. Also, outside chance (based on size) that I might be able to get you some leather to borrow.

Also, anyone who wants to go, but paying $100 for leather rental is keeping you from going, post up your size so those of us w/ access to extra leather can see what's available to fit you...

As the man says, I'm in for cornerworking in the morning and riding A in the afternoon. I'm hoping to finally touch a knee puck this time out. All of my friends say it's easy, but I don't know. :eh:

After my early morning problems I had an absolute blast out there. The weather was great, the track stuck real well and my F4i ran like a champ! It was great seeing everyone again and I have to give a HUGE thanks to Arturo, Javier, James and Henry for help with the bike.

Who would have thought the black wire needed to be grounded... :icon_bigg

I can identify. In the afternoon sessions my knee finally touched down on asphalt in turn 6. cool feeling! a lot better than the oh shit moment I had in the carousel when I dug my toe slider into the pavement. Last session of the day I had the most fun, left knee slider is getting scrubbed well but the right is still nice and new. Next thing to work on...

Felt good, still early apex turn 3 occasionally but I finally learned to carry speed into turn 1 and 2 without freaking out. Looking forward to '06. :icon_thum

don't rush it/be patient - stay smooth on your corner entry/exits and the seconds will start coming off your laptimes - believe me...

Monday was awesome to say the least. My R1 is soooo fast, I'm really impressed with the way Metric Motorcycles made my bike run out there. I was pulling the wheel off the ground at almost everyturn exit and even half way down the straight it was pulling the wheel up, absolutely awesome performance out of the 1. it was great passing all of those new liter bikes, im still a bit slow in the turns but my speed picked up quite a bit thru 1,2,7 and, 8. Next year i'll be using some different tires and hopefully i'll be able to drop another second or two off my best lap. still i was a little ahead of Jeff while he was doing some 2:09's, by the time i finally got a lap timer on my bike we had to exit the track b/c of a crash so i didnt ever get to see what i was running, but owell it isnt that important, i had a great time out there tearing it up with jeff henry and steveo...

I hate pulling the wheel up on corner exit because I always get head shake when it comes back down to earth. Rear shock and steering damper will be next year's upgrades...

Metric is a good place to take an older R1, he's got that champions edition sitting in the front that's set up pretty nicely.

CarbonJames

yeah, he did an excelent job on my bike,, im really impressed with his work.
