Class: Formula 7 Expert

3 No Redline Essay 217 laps, with fastest @ 56.921
4 Branyon Racing 216 laps, with fastest @ 56.336
5 Marc and Jeff 189 laps, with fastest @ 54.965
6 NSR - R - US 35 laps, with fastest @ 56.870

Class: Formula 7 Novice

1 Team Ride Smart 234 laps, with fastest @ 53.604 2 Mad Season 231 laps, with fastest @ 53.201
3 Que Paso Racing 230 laps, with fastest @ 55.434
4 Reddy Racing 222 laps, with fastest @ 54.234
5 Sittin Duck Racing 219 laps, with fastest @ 56.099
6 Haley Motorsports 218 laps, with fastest @ 56.100
7 Road Block Racing 207 laps, with fastest @ 58.960

Couple things to notice:

1) The overall Novice teams appear to be faster then the Expert teams.

2) Out of the top 3 lap times - 2 are from Novice riders.

3) In my opinon - truly based as an opinon of watching riders, their bikes, their top speeds, lap times, pit stops, etc etc. I think Que Paso should have came 1st. :hs: They had 2 riders, were down on power, looked smooth out there unlike Rick & I when we fought were what seemed like 20 or so laps. :keke:, they put on a good clean race. :notworthy:

Reddy - seemed to just had bad luck with crashes.

I think the Red Flag favored us and Mad Season.

I also think by Rick & I pairing up we were able to put in some sweet 54s for a long arse time, which was obviously good for both teams till we all collided going into T9 (last Turn b4 straight), where I ended up having too much dirt on the rear wheel to keep it straight and ended up low siding. :banghead:

It was a good clean race besides all the 'after race drama'.

4) My apologies to Dennis for passing you under a 'standing/waving yellow', I was just waay too late on the brakes going into T1 and had no choice but to pass you. (For the recored I did let him pass me going into T3 as it was my mistake).

5) Congrats to all those that podiumed. :notworthy:

See you all next month, we'll try to make it but probably won't. :/:

ya, we had several incidents on the track that slowed us down a bit...2 crashes, a few off the tracks, at least one kill switch issue...if we can avoid those there will be a even closer fight for 1st thru 4th.

We can't forget about the MH team sitting duck...they were doing damn good out there too!

So first place brings beer to the next one? Lol.

Out biggest issue was in our gearing. We were in 5th gear before the grid lines started on the straight. We also lost a few min when our shifter lever got bent under the motor during an accident. We lost at least 4 laps due to that, but that's racing. Other than that we all had pretty good corner speed (Bagwell set the fastest lap), but it wasn't enough to overcome the gearing and power issues.

BTW, I have already ordered all of the sprockets necessary to fix our gearing for the future races.

I'm part of a 7E team that got third place. Our team name is "No Redline Essay". I am a Novice to this, one other team member is a novice, but he used to race YSR50's long ago, another one started last year, the other is an expert. We have to run in expert due to one member being an "expert". Funny thing is, he is currenlty slower than the rest of us. He will end up faster than us I imagine as he is getting back into this. We all four improved over our first outing by a few seconds per lap. We are using my old XR100 with drum brakes, worn out motor, and Ninja 250 street tires for rubber. We aren't fast enough yet to need more power, but as we get more comfortable, plan on upgrading as needed. Probably will do a disc brake first, then rubber, then rebuild the motor with a 110 kit, cams, and carb update. Our bike couldn't keep up with the 66 bike or Denny/Ray's bike in the straights. It wouldn't matter if we had the power anyway as we aren't "there" yet. We are out there mainly to have fun and so far, it's been a lot of fun. Everyone there seems to have a good time and good humored. Our goal is to just try to get a little faster each race and then rethink our class next year as far as sticking with the 100 or going to something in another class.

For anyone reading this that is thinking about getting into TMGP, you need to come out and try it. It is more fun than you can imagine.

we have to do something with that kill switch though...i bumped it into off and couldn't figure out why the bike wouldn't start.

Godsuki used to slap people on the ass when he passed 'em. :supergay:

I had to move my kill switch for that same reason. It now faces more to the front so my thumb won't hit it.

Those days still exist! I had to get my slap on at GSS a couple of weeks ago!:rofl:

Don't worry boys, we have 2 TMGP/CMRA crossovers this year. With the 8 hour race at OHR, You'll all get slapped quite a bit!! Plus, I'm goingto try to make Denton next month, but will at least do a couple of Katy events this year. There's plenty of chances for you all to feel the back of my hand!
