all the same, just pick what you think looks better and whats more comfortable to sit on.
BTW, I would NEVER recomend one of those bikes for a first bike.

Learning on a 250 dosent mean that you are ready for a 600 or 750. I will say that it's a good start and you're already a step closer. Keep it up. MSF?

He is right. You are off to a good start. MSF is KEY! If you can ***RESPECT*** a 600/750, you should be fine.

If I have to say one out of those, I say lean towards the 600 rather than a 750. Atleast you're not wanting a litre bike! Why you not considering yamaha?

I agree with soloracer !! keep in mind 1 thing ...when you do get a bike ,take your time & go at YOUR OWN PACE . Do not get yourself into a ride where you think you need to push yourself past your limits just to keep up !!
Enjoy & good luck & be safe & wear your gear !!!

How long will your friend let you LEARN on the 250? How many miles under your butt? I have a 250 and I put 4000 miles on it in 4 months - I felt like I out grew it very fast. I have been researching bikes for the past 4 months because I promised to keep it a year. I have learned a lot more about control in the past couple of months than I did in the first few even though I've only added 1000 more miles. 250's are a dime a dozen and easy to sell when you are through ~ maybe you should rent/lease your friends for a few thousand miles?
get a gsxr.............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a HUGE diff. between a cruiser 250 and a ninja 250.
and +1 to MSF.
you can get it for $150 at a few schools locally. and it's well worth it.

I got a used ninja 250, and dropped it 2 weeks after starting riding, not going fast at all and only broke a turn signal cover, a bigger bike would've been more expensive repairs, and a new bike would've made me feel even worse about having dropped it. so... i'd say go used :thumb:

Good luck. Buy used. Then save your money for a year or so and pay cash for a new bigger bike.

My 1st bike is a 600RR ZX Ninja. And I love it to death. I'm glad I didn't get a 500cc or anything smaller. I can see how someone can grow out of those. You have to learn off want you want. I respect the 600 and never exceed out my limits. I even plan on taking some track leasons to get better. I ride everyday roads and hwy back and fourth to work. I stay in Katy and ride to se Houston for work. Get what you want and have common sence on the bike. I'm a noob also.

you'll learn to ride better and faster starting small vs 600+
it's all an EGO check.

Get a ZX10R.
You only go fast if you are twisting the throttle like a bafoon. Buy one just for poser points.
I kid. Learn on a smaller bike, then move up.
I agree with the common sense statement, but you have to keep yourself in check. My recomendation on a first bike would be outside of most of the others. I got my SV650 as my first bike and I couldn't be happier. Yeah, it could go faster, but why do I need to? Is it safe to on the street? HELL NO! It keeps me out of trouble, even when I don't respect it as much as I should, and it keeps me entertained. I've almost been riding for a year now and have 11,000+ miles underneath my belt.
BEST ADVICE given so far, though, is to take the MSF (I'd go to awesome cycles if I did it over again), and talk to the instructors about it. The MSF instructors have great recomendations as far as your choice in a bike and won't tell you to only stick to a 250 or not to get a 600 SS bike. My instructors asked what I'd be using my bike for mostly and some choice questions about me and helped me determine what would be best. I chose my bike, partially, by their recomendations of something that I can be safest with that I won't get tired of fast.
You've got several options, but just remember that this may be your first bike, but won't be your last (most likely). Make your decision on what's smart for right now and not exactly on what you want right now because ego isn't a good thing when buying a bike.
Just my .02.
