I'm looking for someone with basic mechanical knowledge and problem solving skills to service equipment installed at our customer's half million dollar plus houses. A big part of the job is hand-holding of customers and meeting their often high expectations. Hours are flexible, but work must be performed Monday thru Saturday during daylight hours (approx 8 am -7 pm). Pay is low in the beginning, but you can work as many hours as you like each week if you do service calls and work in the warehouse or office. Pay goes up with productivity, experience, and your general contribution to the business. We are a small group of smart and motivated guys on a mission to succeed against our competition. I'm looking for someone who meets the following profile:

Limited work history preferred.
A generally clean, youthful, and wholesome appearance
Is fluent in english, able to speak with wealthy, picky, detail oriented customers (River Oaks, West U, Piney Point, Woodlands, Cinco Ranch, Memorial....you get the idea)
Has Driver's license and social security card (speeding tickets are OK...c'mon this IS motohouston after all)
Has a cell phone that never misses a call, goes unpaid, or gets lost
Can pass a background check for theft / forgery
Has basic mechanical knowledge, but you don't need to be a mechanic (things like changing your oil, wiring up a stereo, adjusting a chain, not stripping screw heads would be enough ability)
Has strong skills in very very basic math (like A + B + C = D plus sales tax = ?)
Shows up when they say they are gonna show up 100% of the time

Plus sides to the job are:

You get to work with reasonable, nice, understanding, and motivated team
Vacation is unpaid but very very flexible.
Days off for trackdays, CMRA races, weekend events...that's a given.
You can ride to work. We are off Westpark at 610, near PP1 and ASI.
Work is generally outdoors, but light in nature with no serious physical exertion required most days.
Intelligence, common sense, and judgement are rewarded over outright physical exertion.
Hard effort is always rewarded over time. We make money, you make money
The product / service we provide is highly valued, sells itself, is loved by our client base, and the equipment is easy to maintain.

However,

Significant around town driving
Must manage your own workload and be flexible about when you come home after work
Must sign confidentiality and non-compete clauses
Any theft of inventory, customers, customer lists, data, falsification of hours or other documents will have you jobless and running for cover. We're lawyered to the T.

Call me at 281-772-1211 to set up a time to come talk with us. If I am busy, sorry, just tell me when you can drop by. The position will be filled by mid to late February.

Must sign confidentiality and non-compete clauses
Peter

FYI, non-competes do not always hold up in court depending on the circumstances. esp in texas. sadly, most people dont know and just sign them. sounds like you have your legal issues covered though.

Motohouston,

My position is open again. All who were interested before, please call me. I need someone to start on Monday, the 28th. Base pay is $10.00 per hour. Job is 80% service, 20% sales thru service. Commission is 10% on sales if you find em, 5% if we give you the leads. We pay mileage of $.25 a mile if you use your own vehicle. Pay is every Friday, one check, no taxes taken out (you will be an independent contractor). Any area of town is fine, we have accounts all over Houston. Warehouse / HQ is near the Galleria and ASI, you'll need to check in every couple of days. The more talkative you are in this job, the better you'll do = more money. My current tech averages $2500 take home a month, less his gas.
