?? For You 50 Guys

Ok i want to get into this whole 50 thing but im bad about having to have really nice stuff :banghead: So i was surfing around the net and came across a web site www.minibikeoutlet.com and it seems to me that i could build a 50 with all the stunt parts cheaper then i could buy and 50 and pimp it out. What are yalls thoughts on this. All help is greatly appreciated :notworthy:

if you want all the fancy stuff then yes ground up is good.

for starters i just suggest you get a stocker and put on the normal stunt mods to get into it.. dont want to get a Bentley to practice drifting you know what i mean

Yeah, unless you get significant pleasure out of smashing really nice stuff to bits. . .get a stocker, outfit it to stunt then sell it off to some other lucky local and get what ya really want.

well form what ive been told the rundown looks like this. Used bike around $600 handle bar kit around $250, New springs and shock $200, 88cc kit $250, other random parts $200. So thats $1500. From the looks of this web site i could build one for under $2000 and have a stronger frame and better motor. But like i said it dont know much about these little bikes thats why im asking yall

for stunting you really dont need a better frame or motor

im still on a stock frame from a 2001 bike and i beat the crap out this thing and a honda motor is a honda motor

Dude I am the same way but, I have come to realize that something are better taken slow I have had ours for maybe a week and it been laid over by my girl and sliid into a car.(that was halarious because it wasn't me and was a friend who thought 50s weren't worth a damn. It wheelied on him in second). If you get something that's too much for your skill level it will not be as fun because you'll be to worried on other things, like dropping it or damging it. A cheap stocker is the way to go and aftermarket part are relatively cheap so you can add as needed. Hope this advice as well as others helps you out

What id ask yourself is what your going to use it for? trailriding, stunting, just farting around and pissing off neighbors, dirt, street.

To me unless your thinking about going into anything other than recreational use just stick with a stock platform and upgrade from there.

well im the worlds worst at "pimpin" my 50s out...anyone can tell you that.

but i love to have glamour 50s, its all about the style you want man. a beater, or a glamorer, its all up to you.

its gonna get beat up, however, my 50 is only missing paint where some kid ran over a 3 1/4" nail and hit my swingarm a few times. but besides that, my 50 still looks brand new. so you can take good care of them and have them last, its all about how you take care of them. the only thing thats really gonna get beat up is your subframe, exhaust, chain tensioners, plastics, and seat. and bars and fork legs might bend if it gets serious enough...

Dude those prices are high I paid approx. $275 for my BBR big bar kit, BBR Front Springs, and BBR Rear Shock Springs. You just seriously need to look around and ask shops around town what the best price they can do for you, some will knock off 10% some might even go as far as giving you 15% off if you buy enough stuff.

i got about 35 bucks in my stunt 50..... hit up javi @true methodz for the aftermarket stuff he is cheaper than anyone in town or you could buy used stuff. i prolly got all tthe extra stuff you will need to get started and you can go from there. i started out with a hoopty and worked my way to my pimp ride.

buy a used stunt ready for 800-1200. Somtimes you can find them with aftermarket frames. I think I may do a geometry/physics write-up and get greg to sticky it, pros/cons of aftermarket parts and stunting.

just remember it doesnt take all the latest and greatest parts to learn and get good. to me i think you give a person: bars, hd rear spring, street tires, stunt pegs that all they should need for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time
