We're still working that out. Sorry I don't have any answer for you now.
Yeah, we love the CMRA and enjoy the racers and racing experience, but the Racer's Only track day was an experiment that we tried with the CMRA. The result was lackluster, but we can't say we didn't try.
Anyway, thanks for your interest and we'll know more later.

If you're allowed... would you mind bumping down to B group for a few laps? I'd like to get some pointers from you on T1 and T2. Seems to be the places I need the most work and you're hella fast through there.
Like I said in a previous post...I'm addicted to track day now after my first one at TWS with RideSmart. I'm hoping to go to LSTD as well.
Question...can anyone that's been to both types of track days comment on differences (positives and negatives) between the 2 (LSTD vs RideSmart). I know one thing I didnt like about RideSmart was there were tons of people on the track and not everyone was in their correct groups. Seems like LSTD has rider caps which is cool so the track does not get congested.
Any other comments?
Hope to see you all there. I have to check my Friday schedule, but if I am free, I am there!

Remember, this is an A group and B group only trackday, no C group. So unless you're running under 2:20 consistently and you hold your lines and corner speed well, then you might not want to do this trackday. There will be some faster riders in all the groups.
My opinion is biased cause I've never done Ridesmart... but LSTD hosts a fantastic trackday. Very organized, great instructions and great management. I've done like 9 LSTD events and they've all been great.
Oh thanks for the heads up! I didn't see that. My bad.
Oct 17th is the next one then right with all groups? I'll probably make it to that one instead.

Werd... but it's at Cresson in Grandbury, TX. It's a badass track but it's over 4 hours away. (southwest of Dallas) This is the last one scheduled for TWS right now with LSTD. But they usually add a date in November... so I'm counting on that (hint hint for Jeff and Steve)

Steve, there will be plenty of instructors riding in the B group for this event, since there won't be any students. I think I'm actually going to pass on this event, eventhough it's the day before the race endurance race. I think I'm going ot close out the season with a few sprints... and doing a trackday(riding in 2 sessions each hour) on Friday, 5 hour endurance race on Saturday, and sprints on Sunday is a bit too much for my aging body. :tongue5:
LSTD management has been talking about adding another event to substitute the Sept. 30th event. I'm sure as soon as they figure out their schedule, that Jeff will post the info. here.

LSTD is pretty much a well organized track day/race. not that much instruction going on at LSTD other than maybe C group(although i have never done a LSTD C group trackday).
ridesmart is a better place to practice the fundementals and then go to LSTD to have the "fast" open track day atmosphere.
this is just my experience.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's appreciated.
roro... for your reference:
A Group
Race/Aggressive Street Rider
For existing racers, or the very aggressive street rider who is no stranger to the track experience.
B Group
Intermediate Riders
For the intermediate paced rider with definitely more than a few track days under their belt.
C Group
Beginner Riders
For the first time track rider, or the very moderately paced rider who has attended a track day, or two. This Group is also where the LSTD Riding School obtains their track time. http://www.lstd.com/html/lstdschool.html

If I were in your position I would try out the LSTD school that they do with the C group. The LSTD pace is a little faster then Ridesmart usually and some specific tips from your appointed istructor would probably get your pace up pretty quick. I took the Lonestar school earlier this year and it was great.

Hey Jeff, I can just sign up and pay for the CMRA school at the track right? I figure, I might as well take the test so I'm all ready to get the provnov stuff out of the way at the beginning of next year. Now, if I take the test now and get my lisence, do I have to pay the CMRA lisence fee again next year? Timing wise, would I be best off just taking the lisencing school now and then getting my lisence at the beginning of next year?

Steve... you have to pay LSTD for the "riding's school", to get your class cert. Then you would have to pay CMRA for your license, which expires Oct. 2nd(last race of the season). If you don't plan on racing at the last CMRA, I'd suggest to wait until beginning of next season. Then your license would be good for the entire season.
Just check with Macman, to make sure that if you take the "riding's school" in 2005, if the cert. would still be good in 2006.
