how much did you pay for it?
pay for what? the turbo? garrett gt15 BB around 700+ range
the fabrication and install, I dunno yet. we are doing this to be duplicated for distribution to the masses.
I should have some kit pricing assembled soon. Looking at providing an affordable kit that is complete with everything to take the stock harley from approx. 70 hp to easily well over the century mark on low boost and pump gas.
This is being done at Autologic, I will be doing the tuning on the dyno.

Is that thing gonna be done by the time the Lone Star Rally rolls around? I'm gonna be down there and there ain't gonna be any other dudes on the pillion

I dont even know when the lone star rally is :-)
and now that all the crap is in, it is just a matter of getting it all welded up.
i have the check valve made for the maf sensor and I have the ball busting oil pump ordered. That should take care of the two woes we had to mull over and solve. Dyno time very soon.
I have so many people waiting on this kit already :-)
two sold on my street alone

What else have you done to your engine besides the trubo?

I was thinking of going back to mid controls and drag bars, but honestly, the apes kinda make me in a different mood and I might stay alive longer not making it a full tilt boogie. Am just looking for a few more ponies to make it fun, but not rag the motor either, so the gt 15 was chosen, low boost and pump gas should be craploads fun. I should be in full boost way low in the rpm scale and pull like mad to redline. Pretty excited and will take new photos on saturday when my son takes his srt there for a few dyno pulls.

well, this / my kit isnt going to be a bling kit. Its more of a test mule kit, so purty aint the objective. The kit for sale will indeed have stainless or carbon steel piping choices and also might buff a casing or two, I'll bet it would look great with the rockers buffed bright too.
I would love to do lunch,

as said before, its not about the most hp, its about getting a bunch more than you have at present and getting it served to you smoothly but strongly from low rpms to the rev limit. Never claimed to make it the fastest bike , that wasn't the goal.

anyway, I went and picked up my bike today from Autologic.
They havent really done squat with it in the 2 minths they had it, thye got the turbo I ordered, the built the manifold for me and thats all.
So I have it at the house and I have a ton of things I bought for it to finish it up.
Photos coming soon, I have a lot of work to do.
crap still cost me $1200+ at autologic for their weak efforts.

yep, bummed me out, over two months and very little done and then the manifold work was done in a hurry. I should have done it myself but oh well, live and learn. I am now :-) I'm grinding and rewelding and also have started on the exhaust flange for the 2.5" downpipe to blend to a 3" exhaust.
I still have to mount the turbo scavenge pump and lines and guages. I have to install the wideband and guage and also boost guage and lines. Yesterday, I ordered all the silicone connectors and spring tensioned T clamps and colored red to match the pinstriping on the tank and logo. Today I bought a wicked scroll saw and am also working on making a skull out of aluminum stock to tap and use as the wingnut for the filter element in the velocity stack I already made. I'll post new pictures when all the silicone and clamps come in, then I can mount the carb and charge pipe etc. Hopefully I'll have the exhaust completely finished by tomorrow afternoon. I plan on using the heat wrap on the manifold to the turbo, so hopefully I'll have it wrapped and clean also by photo time. Goodies supposed to be here saturday.

whats wrong w/ autologic...
ok, heres the scoop.
I went to Autologic because they have a great reputation in the local custom turbo kit industry, if there is one. Basically because Jason aka St00pid has a good rep and has built a name for doing awesome work. I meet him up there, we had discussed previously on the phone what I wanted, we talk about it and the plans for duplicating the kit for resale, the whole 9 yards, he is involved in "yes I'm gonna do this and that etc etc".
End result, the bike sits there for 2.5 months, hardly anything done, in fact, the only thing done was order the turbo and the partial completion of the manifold that you see in the original shots. nothing else. I end up discovering that Jason doesnt have any interest in autologic, as in, he doesnt own it, he doesnt want to do fab work anymore, just tuning and the work that was done on my bike was done by a kid that works there. The manifold is workable indeed, but not anywhere near the quality I was expecting, especially when I get charged 400. for it and it was obvious it was done in a hurry because they knew I was coming to get my bike. How did they know I was coming you may ask? They knew that because after repeated phone calls to them, repeated "no answers" as in, never answer the phone or return calls I resorted to messages I left on their answering machine.
End result, I paid 1200 to get my bike stored for 2.5 months and it came back to me with a gt15 in a box. I'm gonna finish this critter soon though, am way anxious to hear it run and crap, I just wanna go riding!
I guess my Harley turbo project wasn't enough money for them to garner the attention it was promised when dropped off, live and learn I guess.
I am also working on another avenue of duplication of this kit once the bugs are worked out.

Ok cool.. I was thinking boy with out a wast gate he's going to make lots of boost....
my goofy assed brother does that to his diesel wrecker truck. He has the waste gate totally disconnected, tied shut.
I told him he was a goofy bastid and warned him of the impending doom, but he said "Heck fire, sure does make it go a lot better !" :eek3:

nope on the mids, the forwards are fine indeed, plenty of room, it really doesnt hang out there any further than the factory carb and ham can did. The air cleaner can was in the way more than the turbo is now because it was further back where the knee would rest on it. All the piping is done with it tucked in and the exhaust pipe is made where it follows the frame line and tucks under and out of the way as well. It just looks nekked to me because it doesnt have that big assed chrome can and two chrome pipes on it now.
Its gonna be funny, if veiwing the bike from the left side, it is sedate and stock looking, ie: Dr. Jekyll. If veiwing from the right side, it looks all sinister and wicked, ie: Mr. Hyde. :laughing6 my bike is like a split personality :keke:

"hauls major elephant bawls"

Didn't you run premium before the turbo?
yes I ran premium, but when your boosting semi high levels (15# is a way high number on a stocker) you need octane to help with the detonation, and with premium and the temps of the motor at the time, there just wasnt enough to boost over 10# w/o the death detonate clatter.
I did get it adjusted and last night I did some pulls to the rev limiter and it went to 9 - 10# and was pulling to the rev limit so fast, I was at 100 mph in 3rd gear in a couple of blinks and still had two more gears left, and thats with the windsheild on :eek3: .
The boost comes on so smooth, prolly in the 3,500 rpm range your cresting 8# and climbing quick, need to start holding on a bit tighter at that point :icon_thum :hello:

yeppers, its definately fun, tonight I went riding with a buddy of mine that has a 1200 sporty, and his wife on her 883 L sporty and they were ahead of me staggered and when the light went green, they eased into it and then they were hauling a short burst, through second and through third and a bit of fourth. I didnt know how far they were going to take it so, I was way behind and I romped on it in second and started the boost pull, I flew by them as they were doing their third gear pull, him in front, like they were going backwards!
I was short shifting it too :-) and at the next stop, they both said that thing sounded like a freaking jet engine as I went by. They and I admittedly were amazed at how I tromped them. Again, we didnt wind em through the gears, just a short romp, but was fun to see real world results. :eek3:

I cruise it around Friendswood, I go to Galveston and ride the seawall some. I ride it to the office on the Northside some, but Friendswood just goofing off.
I rebuilt the carb today, I didnt really have a problem with it, but i wanted a fresh gasket on the bottom bowl, and a kit was the only way to get it. So, I discovered that it runs much smoother and no more off idle stumbles and farts. I guess the accelerator pump diaphragm was wearing out at 12k+ miles and the fresh one makes it run peeeeeerfect!
I have it at 7# now and its all together a great riding and fun bike to ride, not only for the occasional twist of the grip, but just to watch people when they see it :-) crap loads funny.
CALL ME, lets ride today! 281-802-3577 I wanna goof off next to a stocker and see for a baseline comparison.
