another noob question guyz, how do u wash the bike..

i bought this S100 cycle cleaner and pro honda spray from MU. Now Susanne there asked me not to wash the bike at these car washes..said I shld wash only with a motorcycle hose..or a normal one..... but the S100 'using directions' say use highest pressure water, sharpest jets blah blah..

so i m confused... havent taken it to a car wash station.. at home, got nothing..i live in an apartment... i cld use a bucket or somemthing...but that doesnt give me no pressurized water...
wat do u guyz do..like wat stuff u use, where u wash it, how u wash it..et all...

I just got back from the car wash area in my apartment complex.*
I use only presurized water and a sponge to scrub it ( I got a bunch of love bugs today)
What I was told is that the key to keep the paint nice is to dry it completly, I use a synthetic chamois.
Then I use a finishing cloth I bought at walmart in the automotive section.

The only thing is if you take it to a car wash you'll probably have to ride your bike there. Now your headers and brake pads will be hot.. spraying it with water right after might casue your shit to warp.

Using a high pressure washer can push water behind seals into the bearings and into switch housings. I just use a regular hose and wash it like I wash my car.

handwash it, then dry it with the leafblower, fast as hell, no water spots, no dripping water to leave water spots, and drys the electronics

+1.
Actually I use my small shop vac with the hose on the exhaust side, works well, and the hose is small enough to reach everywhere.

I use microfiber cloths to wash mine. Then use mr. clean autowasher set on spot free rinse. No drying,no spots!

I just washed my bike for the first time today with a Mr.Clean AutoDry kit. . . and as much as I hate backing up huge marketing campaigns there wasnt a spot on the bike. Very nice kit came with soap and a washing glove.

A+++ in vestment for 35$

Also it says its good for 3 washes, but since its a bike its prolly good for like 6-8

while it might look good, it doesnt get the electronics dry. not that it can hurt them, but might as well get them dry if you can.

Just thought I'd add,
if you want to get your rear wheel super clean, Prestone bug/tar remover sold at autozone will take all the dirty chain grease and crud off like nothing else I've used.

I don't recommend using any contact cleaner on an o-ring chain, it deteriorates the o-rings.

I use my Mr. Clean Auto Dry car washing kit that has the filtered water thing. Spray that joker down at the end with filtered water and it dry's totally spotless.

I also use a little Mcguirers detailing spray and a microfiber cloth for touch ups and in between washes.
