Anyone know of a low profile tank bag. I keep finding bags that are like 16in tall and crap. I want just big enough to hold maybe a bottle of water, my wallet and my cell phone. I would say a bag that reaches from the top of the tank to the back and about 2-3 inches tall. Anyone know of any brands close to that? did a search and i keep coming up with icon or a larger bag

dude, i actually got a tank bag a wal-mart!
About a year ago, when Bell was making their come-back, wal-mart put in a little motorcycle section in automotive. Helments, gloves, chain lube etc.
I got a Bell tank bag there. It was only $20. It has big magnets built in for the tank, and a strap to go around the tank/steering head.
The cool thing is that its collapsable. You can have it collapsed it down to just around 2" or expand it to around 6".
Might not be the highest quality bag, but for my use and the cost it was a great choice.

Joe Rocket also makes a "manta" bag that is fairly small.

+1 on the Manta. I use it and it's nice and low profile (Almost too small, but it will hold water, camera and hemet/jacket lock chain. Just don't try to shove your gloves in there when you stop. They won't fit...

If thats all you want use your trunk :keke: I agree with less_than_coop your going to want a Manta style tank bag like this or a Joe Rocket ...someother brand as most tank bags are 3-5 inches

I've got a VERY thin bag that holds just a visible map or paper documents if interested.

I'd use this when riding the back roads finding new routes

I got the Joe Rocket tankbag. I have an extra one, color black, if you are interested. I'd take $20 for it.

Here is a pic of the latest model, the model I have has slightly smaller magnetic grips on the bottom.

I bought a small tank bag, for the same reason!

It's made by Cargo Basics it has the magnets built in as well, it fits between my gauges & my gas cap! It folds up real nice with velcro straps & has a carrying handle & Removable shoulder strap when not on your bike!

It can expand if needed, but it mostly stays low profile! Serves its purpose for what I use it for! Sunglasses, eye glasses, cell phone, camera, etc,!

I paid $39.00 for it @ a Cycle Gear store in Las Vegas, but they all should have it!

ChriS2k,

I have the icon primer tank bag. when it's empty, it's pretty flat.

Are you planning to use a tank bag on your 03 600 RR?
The 600RR tank is actually plastic, so magnets won't work.

I had to put metal washers inside the plastic tank so the tank bag will somewhat work...not well though.

Oh its plastic?? thats wierd... Never knew that. But thanks for the reply. My favorite that i found was the Chase Harper one. but I guess I'll rethink the bag. Its not that big of a deal to have one. I always waste my money on accessories for anything I buy. Haha. Thanks for the input though

+1

I have the mini Cortech and it holds a map, keys, wallet, cell phone, t-shirt, bottle water, screwdriver, pliers, and a hex key set all at the same time.

It does not however hold a ipod shuffle on the outside going down I-10 at 90 MPH. :crying:

FYI put your ipod inside and run your headphones through the hole like it was made for instead of being stubborn like me thinking you can switch songs while going down the road if it is on the outside. :banghead:
