Hey guys I dont own a bike but ive always wanted to get one. I own a 2004 BMW M3. Ive been lurking on this site for a while and i finally decided to join, im usually on M3forum.com but this looks like a cool site and hopefully soon i can get me a R6, Ducati or MV Agusta or something ...do you guys think a Ducati 749 is a good bike to get for a 17yr old first time rider or should I get something less powerful?

If you are looking for a starter bike that could last you a bit, get a 600 or a 500 whatever. *I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it either because you don't really know what your flavor is yet.

How did a 17 year old get a M3? *I've been looking at getting a used one, probably a 2001.

Welcome to the forum dude.

if u ask most experience riders (excluding me) the will tell you to start on a 250 or a 500. i totally agree jumping on a strong bike can be too much to handle. once u get experienced enough u can buy whatever u want...

never flaunt your money on a board first of all.. big mistake!!!!!! you will get flamed...most people here had to work pretty damn hard to earn their bike so they have a whole different appreciation for it.. yuo do not need an r6 as a first bike.. yuor young.. start small, then grow.. you have to walk before you run... start on a ninja 250....

I think a R6 is too much to start with at 17, but there are no good looking bikes under 600 cc* *:yeahno:

all this and other stuff make me think that there is a prety big market, for a sport bike around 300-400cc,maybe even 500, which has somewhat fewer horses, but is actually pretty good loking!
plus it ll definitely ensure a few more young bikers going on to become old bikers

Yokee
08-23-2005, 12:22 PM
Or aftermarket stuff to make them look better like this ninja 250*

what i really mean you should educate yourself more about the decision your thinking about making.. an r6 or a ducati would not be an educated decision.
