View Full Version : Are you happy with our government?

Be honest, the poll is anonymous!

Things to think about:

-Terrorism (Is it real? Is it a problem? Are we bringing it upon ourselves?)
-Welfare
-Illegal immigration
-Falling Economy
-Corruption

Careful, if you are not satisfied with our government you might be classified as a terrorist and be taken as a prisoner of war. Think I'm joking? (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1955&tab=summary)

We need a lot of improvement but like I said before, we are going to be more than likely ****ed on this next presidential election.:/:

I voted I don't care for a few reasons. One, I think in many ways they are doing a great job. I still feel we live in the greatest country in the world. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else unless things went completely down hill. There are lots of room for improvement as RacerX said, but I don't think they are doing a BAD job. I couldn't say that I could do a better job. Maybe if I had sole control, but even the president can't change everything by himself. A lot of people blame the president each time something goes wrong like he has sole control over the decision making. That is one reason I don't like the Democrat versus Republican idea. I think it should just be AMERICAN. So many politicians will vote against something they feel is right just because it is the other partie's adendum. (is that the right word?) Yes, I think our government is great in more ways than not, and yes I feel there is room for a LOT of improvement to make it as great as it once was or even better, but no, I don't feel like I would be capable of doing a better job if I was in office.

I think the problem is more of what we are doing else where verses our own country. Just goes to show your list as well as CNN.... Where was education?

CNN is a horrible channel. It's so politically biased, I can't watch it without ROFL, thats how ridiculous it is.

So are you pro isolationist policy like the US was before T. Roosevelt?

+1 I agree with you on this, however I think it's ill advised to be apathetic about the government. At least you KNOW something about the government. I dread to think of the amount of people that simply just don't know anything.

As far as the election goes, Ron Paul is the only candidate that is close to worthy. I'm doing some drudge research on all the candidates for my Social and Political Theory final paper... it's quite disturbing to see some of the things our perspective presidents have said, done and been a part of.

I also think it's ironic we trust politicians with making decisions on things they are uneducated about. Example: Universal health care involves making decisions about quality of treatment which requires medical knowledge and monetary supplementation. I'd be willing to bet most representatives and senators are neither doctors nor economists. As for the counterpoint, I understand they bring in "experts" to testify, but one must consider the nature and origin of the "experts" including any PACs that might have contributed (bribed) them. Lies, deceit, and disgust. BLAH.

+1 on the president doesn't rule it all. Most of us know he is just a figure head. We have had some good past presidents, with great ideas, who accomplished nothing.

I tend to vote for the lesser of two evils at the time of the election and pray.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The president is just the fall guy in my opinion. Its a shame that when we have a bad presidency we can't clean house on congress and the senate also.

So far, he seems to be as close to my ideas as anyone. Also he seems to be the lesser of the evils as meaner said. I think he is getting my vote this year unless something drastically changes in his campaign.

Be careful, Glen Beck on CNN called Ron Paul supporters terrorists and un-American. What a f$$cking tool, I hate that guy and that channel.

So is fox news and any other news channel. I don't watch it unless there is breaking news that is non political. I go to other websites for info like that but when it comes to the actual election, there is not much to be biased on but the candidates themselves.

I cannot stand when people just blame Bush for all the shit that is going on right now, those people do not have a ****in clue as to how the goverment works which is really sad on their part. I do not know everything there is to know, I would say I am a beginner when it comes to goverment verses being average or advanced in knowledge, but I atleast know the system to bitch about it!!

I'm ready for the revolution...it will probably happen when they don't give us our social security. I remember telling my mom when I 15 or so and started paying taxes that if I didn't get my SS $ back then I was going to stand out front of the white house and shoot flaming arrows at it. lol

Well I think the oil situation is bullshit. We have more oil in reserves than ever before(something like 100 trillion gallons), and have discovered that it is not a fossil fuel, yet we are pushing $100 a barrel, and it will be $120 by the end of the year. What are we saving it for?????? We need to stop using foreign oil and start using our own. There is oil in the gulf, and we havent even explored all of alaska. Why must I pay 3.00 a gallon for gas!!!!!!!!!

As for a revolution, I dont think so. 90% of US citizens are lazy, it takes people that actually give a sh**, and dont just sit around and complain about everything, and go collect there unemployment. I heard a good Idea on the radio the other day. I say we take all the lazy wellfare people and exchange them with immigrants who actually come here to work.

I particularly don't have much to complain about regarding our domestic policy...well, except for wellfare, the military complex, and social security. However, when it comes to the foreign policy that the United States adopted since the late 1800's and the scare tactics they have had to resort to impose those policies on other countries for the [betterment] of our people, it makes you realize that the United States is not really that much different from the Roman empire or the third reich.
