Defensive Player of the Year

Battier got robbed last year. How can they not be considering him this year? He didn't score a lot of points last year, which is why I don't think they consider him, but he is lights out on defense.

Exactly my point, if you notice, most of the guys being considered are MVP type players. High rebounds, points, assists etc. Battier is more of a defensive specialist.

So do they vote? They should pick the categories and let the numbers decide who wins.
